1. Manu Attri was born on the 31st of the December 1992 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
2. His 1st tryst with international badminton happened in 2011, when he partnered Jishnu Sanyal in the Men’s Doubles to win the Kenya International.
3. His Men’s Doubles career started to gain momentum fro 2013, when he began to partner Sumeeth Reddy, a partnership that would prove to fruitful in the coming years. The duo tasted instant success, defeating Chieh Tien and hi-Lin Wang in the final.
4. They repeated those exploits the following year, by winning their second consecutive Tata Open title. Attri also tasted success in the Mixed Doubles, where he partnered Sikki Reddy to the title.
5. Attri and Sumeeth Reddy had a particularly good 2015, when they reached the final of the US Open Grand Prix Gold, where they lost to Junhui Li and Yuchen Liu of China in straight games.
6. Their impressive exploits meant that a surge in the rankings was to happen sooner or later and the duo climbed to World No.17 in the rankings released in the end of July.
7. In October, Attri and Reddy entered the semifinals of the Dutch Open Grand Prix.
8. The duo finally clinched their maiden title of 2015, when they won the Mexico Open, beating Bodin Issara and Nipitphon Puangpuapech in straight games to win the competition.
9. A month before the end of the qualification dates for Rio 2016, Attri and Reddy reached the finals of the Mexico Open, where they lost to Adam Cwalina and Przemyslaw Wacha of Poland in a very close three game contest.
10. Attri’s exploits along with Reddy in the last 12-18 months, earned them a spot in the Doubles team for Rio 2016 last month.
