On Day 15 of Rio 2016, 18-year old Aditi Ashok finished at +7 over par and established herself as someone with great potential. Being as young as she is, it is certain that she has a great career ahead of her and an Olympic medal somewhere down the line in the years to come.

The final day of this edition of the Summer Olympics is almost upon us. We have seen some very encouraging displays from the Indian contingent, most of them coming from young athletes. Needless to say, they have the best years of their careers to look forward to. At this point, we seem well prepared for Tokyo 2020.

However, the show is not over yet as four Indians feature on the last day of the Olympics. We have already won a medal in Wrestling courtesy Sakshi Mallik and now it is the turn of Yogeshwar Dutt to try his hand for a last chance at increasing India’s medal count at the Games.

Haryana, a state which has given us some fantastic wrestlers in the past, is also the home state of Dutt. He is a former Olympic bronze medallist as he finished third at London in 2012. He may be termed the best wrestler in his category in the subcontinent as he won Gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the Asian Games in Incheon in 2014.

It might not be too far-fetched in hoping for another medal from this event. To finish things off in style would be remarkable. He will be facing Ganzorigiin Mandakhnaran from Mongolia. Mandakhnaran won the bronze at the World Wrestling Championship in 2013 and 2014. He also earned the Gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games.

The other event that will feature Indians on the ultimate day of the Games is the Men’s marathon which includes Kheta Ram, Nitendra Singh Rawat and Gopi Thonnakkal as the participants.

Nitendra Singh Rawat had, of course, set a new record for the Mumbai Marathon in January this year when he clocked up a timing of 2:15:48 hours. Gopi T and Kheta Ram had finished second and third respectively in that event. All three of them are a part of the Indian army and will look to do the country proud in another way.

We hope to finish off the Rio experience with a bang.

Note: All matches will be telecast Live on Star Sports and are available for live-streaming on hotstar.com. Matches involving Indians will also be available on DD National.
