5 Contenders for the new Tag Team titles

Why not?

The Tag team title is one of the Championships that could be present on both Raw and SmackDown after the brand split. The depth in WWE’s Tag team division is good at this moment and they do have enough teams to have two championships. With New Day reigning as the current tag team champions, if a second tag team title is indeed introduced, a new tag team is likely to get a title reign.

There are certain teams in the roster that deserves a run with the tag team gold. This list is going to take a look at them and why they deserve to win the championship if WWE decided to introduce it.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

The disfunctional team

Okay, this might not sound like a conventional tag team, but think about the possibilities that these two could produce. Owens and Zayn know each other from childhood itself and although they’ve been tearing each other apart, they know how to work as a team when a situation demands. They knocked out Miz recently in a similar fashion and that one moment got the fans fantasizing.

Zayn and Owens could be this dysfunctional team that is entertaining. WWE could keep them around the Tag team championship all the way to WrestleMania before breaking them up and giving them a WrestleMania match against each other.

Chad Gable and Jason Jordan

best choice from NXT

Chad Gable and Jason Jordan are not yet on the main roster but it’s safe to say that the call up will most likely happen before or during the brand split. If we look at the NXT roster, these two are probably the most apt team to get called up and crowned Tag team champions. The style in which they wrestle is extremely entertaining and fun to watch.

There is a certain level of charisma from both Gable and Jordan as well. Bringing them up and giving them the title run straight away will project them as a credible tag team in front of the fans that are not familiar with their work.

The Usos

Still great babyfaces

The Usos have fallen out of relevance recently. The fact that WWE went with Enzo and Cass to support John Cena and now that Roman Reigns is out due to suspension, Usos will have to hang on their own for the time being. This means that they will be injected back into the Tag Team division aggressively. Usos are still over among the fans as a babyface tag team and will do great as tag team champions.

In fact, WWE could easily build a tag team division around these guys due to the experience that they bring to the table.

The Club

The Club could dominate SmackDown

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have been savage ever since their debut in WWE. With some great support from AJ Styles, they are thriving at the moment and they could be pushed as a dominant force in one of the brands. AJ Styles could be the main event level champion for a brand whereas Anderson and Gallows could be the tag team champions, making the club a stable that has the major titles.

If they are planning to have a new member into the stable, he could win a mid card championship as well to complete the domination of these guys. The chances are less, but it is possible.

Dudley Boyz

The legends

Dudley Boyz has won championships wherever they went. In WWE too, they have won numerous titles. This spell, however, has been a different one. WWE is currently using the Dudleys to put over young talent but that does not mean they are not capable of winning the tag team championship. Making the Dudleys put over young talent without the tag team titles and making them put over young talent with the title is two different things.

And the latter option is better considering the fact that it improved credibility. Dudley can be long term champs around whom the company can build a tag team division.
