5 superstars who will suffer because of the brand split

To be restricted

The brand split is something that we are eagerly awaiting. The concept of having a competition within a promotion and having two separate rosters is a dream scenario for the wrestling fans out there are we are obviously fed up with the same old stuff that WWE feeds us. However, having someone to compete with is going to make matters more competitive and thus, provide the fans with some quality content.

But the problem with the brand split is that, some superstars are going to get limited big time due to the brand split. And this list is going to take a look at those superstars, who will suffer due to WWE having two brands

Charlotte

The women wrestlers in the WWE are finally getting their share of the limelight after being sidelined for the past few years. Instead of treating them like fillers in their television, they are actually treated like legitimate athletes these days and they even recently closed Monday Night Raw.

Charlotte, being the Women’s champion, benefited from this leverage and is turning into a star right now. When the Brand split comes, the treatment of the Women’s championship will be a major talking point. WWE could limit it to one brand considering that Charlotte cannot be on both the shows defending against two sets of superstars.

New Day

Less entertainment

New Day is arguably the most over tag team in the current WWE roster right now. They’ve been credible Tag team champions for a long time now and at the same time; they’ve been the most entertaining stable on both Raw and SmackDown. In short, New Day is must-watch television as far as wrestling fans are concerned.

With the brand split coming in, the number of times that we could see New Day is cut in half and this means that New Day’s chances of growing is also cut in half. It could also hit big time on their merchandise sale and could affect them pretty badly.

Byron Saxton

Could be cut down.

With WWE splitting brands, we are likely to see a split in the commentary team as well. We might have two sets of commentary teams for Raw and SmackDown. While Michael Cole is like to stay on Raw alongside JBL, Mauro Ranallo, and Jerry Lawler are likely to be on SmackDown. Byron Saxton, who currently gets to work on both SmackDown and Raw, however, could be cut down to just one brand.

Corey Graves has already teased a potential main roster commentary position for himself and he could be replacing Byron on either of the shows. If Corey performs well, Byron could also lose his spot when WWE has pay-per-views where both the brands are represented.

Stephanie McMahon

Not an ideal booking

The inclusion of Stephanie McMahons into this list is based on the rumors which suggest that WWE is going to make her the face of the company. Vince McMahon apparently wants to place Stephanie in such a position where she would be able to take over from him once he retires. While Stephanie would still be there in all the official WWE meetings, she would probably be limited to one brand once the brand split starts.

Shane McMahon is likely to run the other brand but at the same time, Shane is not apparently tied to a long-term contract with the company. So in short, limiting your successor to just one brand is not a great idea if you’re Vince McMahon.

Roman Reigns

Going to suffer?

Roman Reigns was on his way to the top of WWE. Or at least this is what WWE had in their mind. They wanted Reigns to be the franchise player of the company and after winning the WWE championship and headlining multiple pay-per-views, he was well on his way there. The Brand split, however, is going to slow down the same.

With the Brand split in place, Reigns will be limited to one brand rather than the WWE as a whole. This could slow down his growth and might even sideline him as a ‘brand’ superstar rather than the face of the company. Elsewhere, in the absence of Reigns, someone like AJ Styles, or Dean Ambrose, could flourish in the other brand.
