5 Heel Turns That Are Poised To Happen This Fall

WWE is essentially like a soap opera, all the good guys are destined to become bad guys and all the bad guys will at some point become relatable enough to be seen as good again. There was once a famous wrestling quote about how every wrestler should be able to work both face and heel to be seen as a success and WWE definitely makes sure that one is on the CV before they are willing to sign any talent to a contract.

Survivor Series is right around the corner and it appears that there are a number of stars who are currently on the verge of turning heel, they are just waiting for that one big push. Heel turns aren't always a bad thing, sometimes superstars work better as heel characters and their turn can then bring out the best in their opponent and create a memorable storyline for the watching WWE Universe.

#5 Big E

The New Day are destined to split in the coming months

The New Day are the current SmackDown Tag Team Champions but throughout the past year, there have been reports that WWE are looking to push Big E as a solo star outside of the group. Whilst The New Day have been the most successful team in the company over the past few years, their entire gimmick has now become stale and it's time for a change.

It will be a heartbreaking moment when Big E does finally turn his back on the two men that he has been aligned with for almost four years, but out of the trio, Big E is the most likely to be pushed into the main event picture because of his look and since he was heel a few years ago when he worked with AJ Lee and Dolph Ziggler, it would be an interesting transition for the former United States Champion.

#4 Charlotte Flair

Charlotte's feud with Becky Lynch isn't going to plan
Ad

Charlotte Flair is currently seen as the face in her feud with Becky Lynch but the issue that WWE has here is that Becky is the one of the two who's circumstances are much more relatable. Lynch has had to fight and claw for everything she has in WWE right now and the fact that Charlotte has come in and been handed seven Women's Championship reigns in less than three years doesn't sit well with many of the WWE Universe.

Lynch's heel turn has already been a car crash and the only way that WWE can pull this feud up is to allow Charlotte to become the heel that she has been so many times and take on the superficial Queen mantra. WWE has said that they don't want Charlotte to be seen as the bad guy here, but the issue is, Charlotte will always be seen as the bad guy because she swooped in an stole a victory that was never even hers.

#3 Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels could be preparing for a return

Shawn Michaels returned to WWE TV this past week and managed to get into a verbal confrontation with The Undertaker. With news that The Heartbreak Kid could be the special guest referee in Australia next month before making an in-ring return in Saudia Arabia, it's easy to see the direction that this feud could take.

Michaels has been one of the most popular wrestlers in the world throughout his career, but the former World Champion would definitely add the shock factor to the show if he was to turn heel on The Undertaker and set up another incredible match between two of the biggest legends in the business.

#2 Nikki Bella

Nikki Bella is poised to turn on Ronda Rousey
Ad

Nikki Bella made her return to WWE at SummerSlam when she was seen congratulating Ronda Rousey on her Women's Championship win before she returned to the ring this past week on Raw. The former Divas Champion was once one of the best heels in the Women's Division throughout her Championship reign and if rumors are to be believed, Nikki could be about to turn heel once again ahead of this year's Evolution.

Nikki Bella is rumored to be facing Ronda Rousey at the first ever all-women's pay-per-view next month and since Rousey has an on-going feud with Stephanie McMahon in the background it's unlikely that she will be the one turning heel, so keep an eye on Nikki Bella in the coming weeks.

#1 Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose's heel turn has been
rumored
for months

Dean Ambrose is one of the most popular WWE stars, his merchandise is regularly sold out and his return to WWE ahead of SummerSlam was one of the biggest in recent memory, but Ambrose works better as a heel. The former World Champion was one of the best characters on the circuit when he was Jon Moxley and so far WWE has failed to allow him to unleash that.

Even though Ambrose is on the same side as Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns right now, it was Rollins that injured Ambrose last year and forced him out of action, it is also Ambrose who is the only member of The Shield without a title so expect him to turn heel in the coming weeks and step up as Rollins' next challenger once this mini-reunion comes to an end.
