Will Paul Heyman turn on Brock Lesnar

5 Things that might happen at SummerSlam

This year's Summerslam has some great storylines, as Roman Reigns challenges Brock Lesnar in what should be the conclusion of their grand feud, Ronda Rousey will face Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship, AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe for the WWE Championship match, and Daniel Bryan will eventually get his hands on The Miz in a battle that has been delayed for long.

Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns is the match that the people are least hyped for. Apart from Dean Ambrose returning back into the mix and an attack on Roman Reigns, there wasn't enough to the episode of Raw. Things were comparatively better on SmackDown, mostly due to that show's precise duration. Sometimes the effectiveness of the PPV is calculated by how big the main event is. A really exceptional last match can change the impressions of the WWE Universe.

AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe may be better as the main show's starting fight. Understandably, it'll get more participation and enthusiasm from the crowd. This year's SummerSlam can get off to a blistering start and the match could very well last for over 25 minutes, it'll be a treat for the fans. Other matches, including the SmackDown Women's Championship match and Intercontinental Title match, can follow the opening bout.

#5 Miz vs Bryan steals the show

Miz and Daniel are set to square off against each other at Summerslam
Ad

It's a time where everything in the WWE seems poor, there is something about this battle that appears very original. It looks that the two men do not fancy each other and that explains into their on-screen segments. The WWE Universe has waited approximately a decade for this dramatic unfolding. And when these two enter the ring at SummerSlam, they will make the crowd go nuts and steal the whole goddamn show.

The Miz and Daniel Bryan have not crossed paths much despite being in the same brand for all this time. All the hype and excitement breaks at Summerslam when the two longtime enemies ultimately get to knock each other out.

This rivalry was revived when Daniel Bryan called The Miz a coward because of his wrestling style and copying his moves, The Miz would go on to deliver a historic promo questioning Bryan for not giving up on wrestling. That promo was brilliant. They have faced each other quite a few times but, they have never truly had a great singles match.

#4 Samoa Joe wins the WWE Championship

Styles will defend his WWE Championship against Samoa Joe

The WWE Universe is familiar with the ongoing dispute between Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. For the first time in the WWE, we will have the pleasure to see these two great wrestlers fighting for the most important title in a WWE ring.

It'll be better if Styles loses the Championship to Samoa Joe and this will give Joe a valid chance to prove himself that he does fit in the bigger leagues as well. AJ Styles is, without a doubt, one of the greatest wrestler in the world. However, now it's Joe's opportunity and he deserves to be the next big thing on the blue brand. Styles has had an excellent period with the WWE Championship. Styles is currently programmed to defend his gold against Samoa Joe at SummerSlam.

Samoa Joe is a destroyer and when he destroys AJ Styles for that title at SummerSlam, it will boost his reputation and he will get what he rightfully deserves. With Hell In A Cell pay-per-view coming, Joe winning the title seems certain.

#3 Charlotte Flair turns heel

Will Charlotte turn on Becky at Summerslam?
Ad

Ever since Charlotte came to SmackDown, she has not been at her very best. Her promos have not been that great. Like her dad Ric Flair, Charlotte is born to be a heel and is one of the best talents on the roster in every viewpoint. While doing promos, no one could get the heat like Charlotte in the women’s division does.

In the ring, Charlotte is incredible against whoever she was going with, and that’s the Charlotte people actually love. Becky has had a hard time going for more than two years to get back into the title picture, while Charlotte, on the opposite end, gets back from injury and is promptly given an opportunity to be in a title match at Summerslam.

I would like to go with the match something like this, Becky Lynch wins the match, Charlotte gets back in the ring and attacks Becky Lynch, hits Natural Selection on the newly crowned champion. Stealing Lynch's moment. This could lead to Becky getting her title rematch at Evolution or Hell in a Cell, where these two can go out and have a great match for the championship. Or Charlotte can have a lengthy run with the title. I'm okay with both.

#2 Seth Rollins wins the Intercontinental Championship

Rollins will be looking to reclaim his title.
Ad

The last two months in the WWE, Seth Rollins, and Dolph Ziggler have been entangled in a rivalry over the Intercontinental Championship. This all began when Dolph Ziggler defeated Rollins for the title back in June. The flagship show has completely been dominated by encounters between The King Slayer and The Showoff, which is leading a match between the two of them at the biggest party of the summer.

The Architect certainly has found himself an associate to counterbalance Drew McIntyre. The associate is the returning Dean Ambrose. Now the probabilities are even, 'The Man' will be hoping to reclaim the IC belt.

Ever since Rollins lost the belt, the Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge has been extremely craved, and if Rollins wins this Sunday, the IC Challenge will make it's way back to Monday Night Raw. Furthermore, Rollins needs to win the title because Dolph Ziggler is not that popular with the crowd as he used to be. Few people cheer for him and few boo him. This shows the lack of attention in a champion which is hurting the glory of the IC Championship.

#1 Reigns vs Lesnar ends in a No Contest

Brock Lesnar has held the Universal Championship for over 500 days now.
Ad

This match will be the main event of the SummerSlam pay-per-view, as there is no other match that can level it. If Vince books this match at the beginning or before the main event of the show, then there is a chance that the match has some sort of crazy finish to it that dramatically does nothing but tell the fans to wait even longer for the ultimate conclusion.

We've already seen this type of endings being appropriated by the creatives. Remember Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles, the disaster that happened at 'The Greatest Royal Rumble'. This won't be happening for the first time, so this booking procedure has definitely been on someone's card backstage.

Hopefully, there is a valid finish to the match, that the WWE Universe can accept rather than something that destroys the hype and disappoints a lot of fans. The final result could end in some sort of draw or no contest.
