WWE SmackDown Results, 6th November 2018, Latest SmackDown Live winners and video highlights
Paige kicked off SmackDown Live hyping up Survivor Series and introduced Shane McMahon. Paige didn't seem to be very apologetic about the World Cup controversy. She gave him the trophy for a photo. The crowd booed him and chanted "CM Punk".
Shane said he was glad the trophy came to SmackDown Live and proved brand supremacy, though he didn't consider himself the best in the world. Then they began to hype up the Survivor Series match ups. He introduces the male captain for Team Blue and it was Daniel Bryan.
Daniel Bryan came out and thanked the crowd and Shane. The Miz interrupted and praised Shane without actually praising Shane, calling him "co-best in the world" and asked him how the trophy arrangement worked. The Miz said he has never been so injured that he had to forfeit.
He said he deserved to be captain and the crowd seemed to agree. Shane said that he actually agreed and named him captain too. He then had a discussion on the side with Paige and told The Miz that he's Daniel Bryan's co-captain.
Bryan and Miz were arguing backstage and Shane came up to them. Miz said his first pick for the team was Shane himself and Bryan agreed.
The Usos vs. The New Day- Winners become Survivor Series team captain
Kofi Kingston started the action with Jey Uso who shoved his opponent down to start things off. Kofi began to leap over Jey but got picked out of mid-air and evaded trouble to land the dropkick. Jimmy tried charging at him but Kofi sent him out.
Kingston began the weirdest showboating ever while Xavier Woods played the trombone. This allowed Big E to attack Jimmy while he was looking away.
The Usos were finally in control for a moment as Big E hit a suicide dive on Jey Uso. Kofi Kingston hit an Enzugiri and the crowd didn't react. Jimmy Uso hit a powerbomb on Kofi Kingston from the turnbuckles, landed a frog splash and it was over!
Result: The Usos def. The New Day and are the SmackDown Tag Team Elimination Match captains
After the match, The Usos acknowledged The New Day and said, "Real recognizes real". They said that they've gone to war and back and they officially selected them as the first picks of the team.
After the match, Daniel Bryan said that he wanted Rey Mysterio in the team. Miz disputed it but said that if he impressed him against Andrade 'Cien' Almas later tonight, then he'd agree to that.
Becky Lynch replies to Ronda Rousey
Becky said Ronda might hold a title but she wasn't a champ because she hadn't been tested yet. She said Rousey will understand the true meaning of survival when she steps in the ring with Becky. Becky said she wasn't meant for the Main Event but here she is. Becky then set forth a challenge to the whole locker room and out came SAnitY. Nikki Cross debuted on the main roster and the match was soon underway.
Becky Lynch vs. Nikki Cross
Nikki Cross caught Becky in the apron rope and unloaded on her mercilessly. Becky recovered and drove her into the barricade and sent her back in the ring for a near fall. Becky Lynch hit Cross with a series of elbows but Cross battled her way out and started running into Lynch.
She hit a running bulldog on the champ and Becky Lynch looked like she was in trouble. Becky used the disarm-her making Nikki tap out getting the victory after a very even match.
Result: Becky Lynch def. Nikki Cross
Bryan and the Miz revealed their picks for the final team member. Bryan picked Jeff hardy while Miz's selection was Samoa Joe. Joe and Hardy would face off later in the night to decide the final member of the SmackDown team at Survivor Series.
Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade Cien Almas
Rey Mysterio hit a quick hurricanrana early on but Andrade caught him with a big boot, slowing the legend down. Almas took the fight outside but both men ran into the barricades after a strange counter move. Mysterio dodged the double knees in the corner and hit a boot to the face.
Almas got a big reversal and hit two double knees in the corner but it was only a near fall as Rey kicked out. Mysterio hit the running Hurricanrana and then the 619 for the pin getting the victory. Randy Orton showed up again without any warning and hit the RKO as Rey was celebrating.
Result: Rey Mysterio def. Andrade Cien Almas
AJ Styles was backstage and spoke about Survivor Series where he would face Brock Lesnar. He recalled last year's show where he didn't come out victorious but promises to beat Brock at Survivor Series.
Paige announces the SmackDown Women's team
Paige was out to announce the Women's team for Survivor Series starting with Carmella who came out with R-Truth; Naomi, Sonya DeVille, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair but Mandy Rose came out in Flair's stead.
She said she was an 'upgrade' over Flair but was more curious why Paige chose Sonya over her. Mandy antagonized the team and Naomi was the first to attack her. She and Sonya had a verbal exchange after the fight was broken up and Mandy stormed out.
Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Hardy - Winner becomes final Survivor Series team member for SmackDown
Joe charged at Jeff Hardy right off the bat but hardy fought him off. Hardy went for an early Swanton but didn't get it. Joe took out Jeff with a huge body slam as we headed to commercials. Samoa Joe was in control of Jeff Hardy as we returned. Joe throws Hardy into the barricade but hardy recovered quick.
Hardy hit the Swanton Bomb but Joe got the knees up. Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch and got the submission victory. Joe taunted Bryan after the win and Bryan attacked Joe. The Miz tried to stop him but he unloaded on the Miz as well. Shane McMahon interjected, only for Bryan to judo throw him!
Result: Samoa Joe def. Jeff Hardy and will join the Survivor Series SmackDown team
Daniel Bryan walked off after the beatdown with Shane looking at him shocked and clueless.
