Daniel Bryan was in the venue as SmackDown kicked off and went on a rant about fast food. Bryan took a hot dog from a fan's mouth and then threw it at another fan's face. Bryan called the fans weak, submissive, impotent and demanded that they change themselves. He said AJ Styles filled the void for 30 seconds and that he will tear apart that void.

Bryan was attacked by R-Truth who came out of nowhere. Bryan was thrown into the barricade, even before their scheduled match started.

It was frantic and fast-paced so far. Truth went for the pinfall after a kick to the face of the champion but Bryan kicked out. Bryan landed a few kicks to the back and sternum of Truth.

Back from the break, R-Truth and Bryan were facing off. R-Truth tried to counter but was stricken down and Bryan landed more kicks; Truth finally countered and landed a jawbreaker, but Bryan once again kicked out. Daniel Bryan landed a running knee and got the pinfall.

As Bryan made his way to the back, he was attacked by AJ Styles; he was held back by security before Bryan ran away to the locker room.


Rey Mysterio & Mustafa Ali vs. Samoa Joe & Andrade Cien Almas

Back from the break, we saw Samoa Joe and Mustafa Ali kicking things off. Samoa Joe tried to dominate but Ali got the counter with a few punches. Joe shoulder barged Ali to the floor and landed punches.

Ali countered with a dropkick and tagged Mysterio as they double dropkicked. Almas was then tagged in and the two traded fantastic, acrobatic moves. Almas landed a huge kick and went for the pinfall, but Mysterio just kicked out. Joe was tagged in and tossed Mysterio and landed punches before he tagged in Almas once again.

Almas was thrown to the floor, face first by Mysterio as both men were down. Ali was tagged in by Mysterio, he landed a hand scissors takeover, before landing a kick to the face and drove Almas' face to the floor. Almas countered and Joe was tagged in. Ali landed a dropkick on both Joe and Almas; he was caught by Joe on the outside and thrown onto the announce table.

Back from the break, Ali was dangling from the ropes and acrobatically threw Almas; both men were down and looking for a tag. Mysterio was tagged in and the action picked up. He landed a seated senton on Joe and went to work on Almas. Ali landed a 450 on Joe. Ali once again took out Joe and Mysterio went for the 619 but Almas countered and landed a Hammerlock DDT and got the three count.

Backstage, Carmella hyped up her triple threat to the match against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, with the winner facing Asuka at Royal Rumble.

The Miz was not happy about The Usos getting a shot at The Bar and not him and Shane McMahon. But Shane said there are no shortcuts and that they will have to train and scout challengers before they can insert themselves into the tag team picture.

Rusev calls out Nakamura

US Champion Rusev had some choice words for Nakamura

The United States Champ Rusev was in the ring and didn't look very happy after Nakamura hurt his wife Lana last week. He called out Nakamura to the ring and told him that he will break every single bone in his body and crush him. US Champ. Nakamura was in the TV truck and showed a video package which showed that it was Rusev's fault that Lana got injured and not Nakamura's.

Rusev said if Nakamura didn't come to the ring, he will go to Nakamura to find him but Nakamura attacked the US Champ backstage and landed a Kinshasa.

The Bar vs. The Usos - If The Usos won, they would get a tag title opportunity

The match kicked off with Sheamus and Jey Uso, as Jey worked on Sheamus' hand. Jey landed a dropkick and went for the pinfall but Sheamus kicked out and tagged Cesaro. Jimmy was tagged in too. Cesaro went out of the ring before Jey was tagged in, landing a forearm punch to Cesaro's face. Sheamus was tagged in and the two traded punches.

Jey landed a huge blow to Sheamus with a lariat and went for the pinfall but Sheamus kicked out. Back from the break, Jey tried to get the tag, but Sheamus was far too powerful; Cesaro was tagged in and landed a huge elbow drop from the top rope, but Jey kicked out.

Sheamus tagged in and went to work on Jey's shoulder. Jey landed a huge boot to Sheamus' face, and got the tag, while Cesaro also tagged in. Jimmy landed a Samoan Drop on Cesaro and then went for the pinfall, but Cesaro kicked out. The Usos went airborne and Cesaro was even thrown into the crowd. Jimmy went to the top rope and landed a crossbody on Cesaro but Cesaro kicks out.

Sheamus was tagged in. Jey was tagged in and landed a superkick on Sheamus but he just kicked out. Back from the break, Jey was put in a sharpshooter by Cesaro but Jey got to the rope to break the submission. Sheamus landed a knee but Jey kicked out once more.

Jey tried to fight back with a few headbutts on Sheamus. Jey climbed to the top ropes but Sheamus landed a knee and put Jey on his shoulder but Jey got out before superkicking Cesaro and Sheamus. Jey was interrupted by Mandy Rose, dressed in a towel. She said she wanted Jimmy's help, and that he had left something in "their" hotel room. The distraction helped Cesaro land a Neutralizer on Jey and get the pinfall.

Result; The Bar def. The Usos

The Miz made his way to the ring and congratulated The Bar. The Miz wanted The Bar to put their SmackDown tag team titles on the line against him and Shane McMahon at Royal Rumble.

Sheamus landed a Brogue Kick on The Miz, and they then accepted the challenge put forth by The Miz. It's going to be The Bar facing off against Shane McMahon and The Miz at Royal Rumble for the SmackDown tag team titles.


Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte vs. Carmella - SmackDown Women's Championship #1 contender match

Carmella went for an early pin on Charlotte as Becky was sent outside but the Queen kicked out. Becky recovered and wiped out both contestants on the outside as we headed for commercials. We returned to see Becky hit a kick on Carmella in the ring and then toss Flair on top of Carmella.

Becky and Charlotte squared off in the ring before Carmella took them both out. Charlotte hit big boots to both Superstars and set up both for a double moonsault and landed it. Becky tried to interfere but was kicked in the face, hard. Carmella dropped Charlotte from the top rope after another break and landed a big dive on Lynch.

Charlotte hit a moonsault on the outside but no one was home. A Bexploder from Lynch saw Carmella wiped out. Becky tried for the disarmher but Charlotte came in with the Natural Selection and all three were down. Charlotte went for the Figure 8 and Becky hit a leg drop followed by the disarmher on Flair but Carmella kicked Becky square in the face. A few seconds later, Becky locked in the disarmher on Carmella and got the win.

Result: Becky Lynch def. Charlotte & Carmella and will face Asuka at Royal Rumble

Asuka made her entrance and had a staredown with Becky Lynch. What an end to SmackDown Live!
