Test cricket, by many, is considered as the best format of cricket as it tests a player's skills and attitude over a span of five days. Despite all the glamour and hype of T20 cricket, the shorter formats cannot reciprocate the essence of Test cricket.

A Test match is said to be won in sessions and the equilibrium of the match can shift from one side to other anytime. Unlike T20 game in which a single player can take away the match from the opposition, Test cricket needs a collective effort of the team.

No cricket team in the world depends on one or two players. The team always plays to win - Virat Kohli

These words by the Indian captain reiterate the fact that cricket is a team game and it requires contributions from everyone with the bat and in the field.

Here is a batting record held by cricketers who are predominantly bowlers showing that everyone can contribute to the team.

Here are the four cricketers who never got out in their Test careers:

#4 John Childs - England: 4 innings, 2 runs

John Childs, who played county cricket for Gloucestershire and Essex, made his England debut against West Indies at the age of 36 years and 320 days.

In the two matches that he played, Childs picked up only three wickets from 86 overs. In a series which was dominated by West Indies bowlers, Childs managed to stay not out on all four occasions.

Childs' both matches came against West Indies in a five-match series, lost 2-0 by England. Incidentally, Childs took part only in the matches in which England ended up on the losing side.

#3 Tinu Yohannan - India: 4 innings, 13 runs

Tinu Yohannan was the first cricketer from Kerala to play for India in Tests and ODIs. Yohannan had a memorable Test debut in December 2001 against England. He dismissed both the English openers and claimed a total of 4 wickets.

In the next two Test matches that he played, he could pick only one wicket in each and he ended his career with a total of six wickets in three matches with an average of 51.20.

In these three matches, Yohannan was asked to bat four times and in those four innings, he remained not out with the highest score of 8* against New Zealand in his last Test.

The interesting thing about Tinu Yohannan's batting is that even in ODIs, he remained not out the two times he came to bat, making his batting record more unique.

#2 Afaq Hussain - Pakistan: 4 innings, 66 runs

Hussain holds a unique record in Test cricket, having scored the most Test runs (66) without being dismissed. In his first Test match against England in 1961, he scored 10* and 35*. Three years later in 1964, he got the opportunity to play against Australia, against whom he scored 8* and 13*.
