In less than 24 hours, India and Bangladesh will lock horns once again in the final of the 2018 Asia Cup in Dubai. While the former have fairly cruised their way into the summit clash, the latter has stumbled en route, defeating Pakistan in a virtual semi-final in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

Now as they gear up for an encore of 2016, they will up against an Indian side that has a few players who featured the last time these two teams met in Dhaka in 2016 and they will need to be wary of some of them not having the same kind of impact as they that day, if they are to lift the Asia Cup on Friday.

Here are five Indian players from that final who will feature in the one on Friday.

Jasprit Bumrah

Still early days back then, Jasprit Bumrah busted onto the scene like a breath of fresh air with his awkward action causing trouble to every batsman in the world. The arrival of Bumrah also solved one of the biggest headaches of the MS Dhoni era- the need for a specialist death bowler, as Bumrah gave his captain the consistency he was looking for.

On that day, he finished with figures of 1 for 13 in his 3 overs in a match reduced to 15 overs per side.

Rohit Sharma

Runs from Rohit's blade will be vital on Friday

The captain of the present outfit, Rohit Sharma came into the Asia Cup on the back of a terrific tour of Australia and right throughout the Asia Cup, barring the Group game against Pakistan.

In this Asia Cup so far, Rohit has looked in excellent form having made a hundred in the previous game against Pakistan before being rested for the match against Afghanistan.

However, that day, Rohit fell cheaply again in India's pursuit of 121 in 15 overs and he will hope to put in a better performance with the bat on Friday in Dubai.

Shikhar Dhawan

England v India - 3rd ODI: Royal London One-Day Series
Dhawan's form has been excellent in this Asia Cup

His opening partner from that day, Dhawan has been splendid form in this Asia Cup, having already made two centuries against Hong Kong and Pakistan, respectively.

On that big day, the left-hander, along with fellow Delhi mate Virat Kohli, set the platform for India's chase, making a 44-ball 60. The team will hope for a similar kind of performance from him against the same opposition on Friday.

Ravindra Jadeja

India v West Indies - 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup
Jadeja will hope to put in an impressive performance on Friday

The most recent 'comeback man' of Indian cricket, Ravindra Jadeja was one of India's major spinners in the previous edition of the Asia Cup and proved to be effective in the 2016 final, taking 1 for 25 in his three overs.

Rohit will be hoping for a similar performance with the ball from him on Friday as well.

MS Dhoni

England v India - 3rd ODI: Royal London One-Day Series
Dhoni will want to end the 2018 Asia Cup on a high

The captain of the side that won in 2016, MS Dhoni has had an odd Asia Cup this time around and will hope to end the campaign on a high on Friday.

The 37-year-old scored the winning runs in the previous edition and will want to make a sizeable contribution with the bat on Friday.
