MS Dhoni has a win percentage of 53.77% in his captaincy career, which is only bettered by Ricky Ponting (67.90%) and Graeme Smith (56.99%), among players who captained in 200 or more matches in international cricket.

The second player in the list is William Porterfield who has led Ireland to 26 wins in 56 matches. Darren Sammy comes third in the list with 27 wins in 47 matches, captaining West Indies.

Dhoni is also the first captain to win 150 T20 matches (includes T20 leagues). He achieved the feat when his IPL team CSK defeated SRH in IPL 2018 at the Wankhede.
