What's the story?

A touch of romance was added to the second day's play of the ongoing Ashes Test. A young cricket fan proposed to his girlfriend after lunch in the pool deck at the Gabba as Australian openers David Warner and Cameron Bancroft walked to the crease.

Australian fans Michael Langridge and Tori Roebuck were enjoying the view from the pool before Michael dropped to one knee and popped the question. To the delight of the crowd and Michael, she said yes.

Former Australian captain Mark Taylor, who was doing commentary, said: “I assume that means she said yes, with all the kissing and what have you that’s going on.”

The glee was evident in her face as she said yes and the couple embraced each other and started a new innings in their life just as Warner and Bancroft were looking to do the same on the pitch for Australia.
