The Deodhar Trophy 2018-19 was scheduled between 23-27 October 2018. It was a tournament which includes three domestic teams from India named as India A, India B and India C. The tournament was organised at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.

India C played for the tournament first time and won the title. They defeated India B by 29 runs in the finals.

#1 Ajinkya Rahane (C) (India C)

Ajinkya Rahane was impressive throughout the tournament. He is a consistent performer in the domestic List-A tournaments. He was selected to lead India C in the tournament. He scored an unbeaten 144 in the finals and was awarded as the player of the match and was the second highest scorer of the tournament.

#2 Ishan Kishan (WK) (India C)

Ishan Kishan opened the batting for his team for the first time in this tournament. He did this in the finals, where he scored 114. Also, he and Rahane had an opening partnership of 210. Currently, there are no opportunities open for him at the international level despite being consistent in the domestic circuit. He is the third highest scorer of the tournament.

#3 Shreyas Iyer (India B)

After his great outing against Sri Lanka in India, Shreyas Iyer failed to impress the selectors in the South Africa Tour and was dropped for the subsequent tours. He is a consistent performer in the warm-up matches against the visitors and domestic tournaments.

He was selected to lead India B in the tournament. He scored 148 in the finals, but his efforts were not enough to win the tournament as India B lost the match by 29 runs. He is the highest run scorer of the tournament.

#4 Shubman Gill (India C)

Shubman Gill is an emerging batsman. He has scored most of his runs batting at No. 3. He is the 5th youngest batsman in the history of the tournament to score a century. He achieved this landmark on 25 October against India A and was awarded as the player of the match.

Matches- 3, Runs- 168, HS- 106*, Average- 84, Strike Rate- 88.88.


#5 Hanuma Vihari (India B)

Hanuma Vihari has played only 1 Test for India against England on 7 September 2018 at The Oval, where he scored a half-century in the first innings.

He didn't get a chance to play for India in the limited overs format. He has scored most of his runs for India U-19, Andhra Pradesh and India B batting at No. 4. His best performance is 87* against India A in the inaugural match of the tournament.

#6 Suryakumar Yadav (India C)

Suryakumar Yadav comes to bat between No.5 to 7 positions in the domestic tournaments. He opened the batting for the first time in his career in the IPL 2018. Despite being consistent in the domestic circuit, he is ignored the by the selectors of the national team. His best performance is 56* against India A on 25 October.

#7 Vijay Shankar (India C)

Vijay Shankar has played for India in the Nidahas Trophy 2018. But due to his poor form, he was dropped for the subsequent tours. He comes to bat between No.5 to 7 positions. He failed to impress with the bat in the tournament. But, he ended up being the highest wicket-taker of the tournament. His best bowling figures are 3/40 against India A on 25 October.

#8 Deepak Chahar (India B)

Deepak Chahar has played a single ODI for India against Afghanistan in Asia Cup 2018. But, it was an unforgettable debut for him. But, his talent as an all-rounder in the domestic tournament can be a menace for the opposition.

He is the third highest wicket taker of the tournament. His best bowling figures are 2/36 against India C on 24 October.

#9 Rajneesh Gurbani (India C)

Rajneesh Gurbani is one of the most underrated bowlers in the domestic circuit. He didn't get a chance to play in IPL. The rivals try hard to pick up his swing. He is the joint second highest wicket-taker of the competition. His best bowling figures was 3/38 against India B on 24 October.

#10 Pappu Roy (India C)

Pappu Roy had a great start to his Deodhar Trophy career. He is a consistent performer for Orissa in the domestic tournaments. He is the joint second highest wicket-taker of the competition. His best bowling figures was 3/45 against India B on 24 October.

#11 Mayank Markande (India B)

Mayank Markande is an emerging spinner playing for Punjab in the domestic tournaments. The rivals try hard to pick up his leg spin. He is the joint second highest wicket-taker of the competition. He is the only bowler in the tournament to pick up a 4-wicket haul. He achieved that feat against India A in the inaugural match of the tournament.
