IPL 2018 Auction: Players with Highest Base Price

Of the 578 players who have registered for the IPL 2018 Auction only 36 players have registered themselves at the maximum base price of INR 2 crore. Several Indian stars like Yuvraj Singh, KL Rahul and T20 superstars like Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle and co. opted for the highest base price.

Among the 36 players, there are 13 Indian players and 23 overseas stars. Yuvraj Singh, who is the only player to have been the most expensive player in an IPL Auction twice, Yuzvendra Chahal, Dinesh Karthik and several other Indian stars opted to go with a base price of 2 crore.

Among the regular limited-overs stars for India, Shikhar Dhawan, Kedar Jadhav, KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane were the players who listed themselves at the highest base price. IPL veterans like Robin Uthappa and Karn Sharma also opted for it along with Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh and Test regulars Ravichandran Ashwin and Murali Vijay.

Among the overseas players on the list, Australia have the most number of players in the highest base price with 9. Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell headline the Australian contingent, which also includes retired fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, out-of-favor all-rounder James Faulkner and seasoned T20 stars like Cameron White and Chris Lynn.

England are second on the list with five players including Ben Stokes and current ODI and T20I captain Eoin Morgan listing themselves at 2 crore. In Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard, West Indies have three players in that bracket.

South Africa and New Zealand both only have two players at 2 crore. Quinton de Kock and Colin Ingram are the two Proteas while all-rounder Corey Anderson and former captain Brendon McCullum are the Kiwi duo. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan both have one player each.
