FIFA 17: Top 10 Five-Star Skillers

FIFA 17 hits the stores on September 29 and one of the key features of the game for the players is to perform complex skill moves and be the difference maker. Skill moves are a devastating weapon which can bring any defense to their knees. 5-star skill players are the most sought after cards in FIFA Ultimate Team as well as they give the users an edge over the other players.

As the debate on Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi’s ratings rages on, we look at the top 10 five-star skill players in FIFA 17.

#10 Juan Cuadrado (Juventus/Colombia)

It was a real shame that Juan Cuadrado could not work his magic at Chelsea and was left to be content with a role on the bench under Jose Mourinho. The Colombian was eventually loaned to Juventus where he showed his true capabilities. Serie A Champions have once again signed Cuadrado on a season-long loan with an option to buy him next summer. Cuadrado is often used as a wing back by Juventus but he is most effective when used from the right wing position in a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 formation.

#9 Nani (Valencia/Portugal)

Portuguese star saw his career take an upward jump at the Euros where he was Portugal’s most consistent player of the tournament. His tricks have always been fascinating to see but Nani managed to mix it with effective displays both going forward and tracking back to help his defense. Nani sealed a move to Valencia soon after the Euros and will be one of the popular cards in FIFA 17 this summer.

#8 Douglas Costa (Bayern Munich/Brazil)

He is one of my go-to players in Ultimate team because of hs brute pace and of course the 5-star skill abilities. Despite the presence of Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben, Brazilian winger has cemented his place in Bayern’s lineup and is one of their key players. Like FIFA 16, Costa will once be a popular choice among the Ultimate Team and Online gamers.

#7 Hatem Ben-Arfa (PSG/France)

What a rise this former Newcastle United and Hull outcast has experienced in last 12 months. Ben-Arfa is rated 84 in FIFA 17 and is one of the rare 5-star skill players in the game. Ben-Arfa exploded on the scene last season with 18 goals and 6 assists with OGC Nice in Ligue 1. He sealed a free transfer to PSG earlier this summer and will be a key player for both his club and country in coming seasons.

#6 Riyad Mahrez (Leicester/Algeria)

One of the most popular players in Premier League at the moment, Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez is a delight to watch when he gets going. Mahrez can leave the defenders running for cover when he gets his skill moves going. Last season, we witnessed Mahrez score 17 goals and set up 11 more for his teammates which have seen a huge jump in his ratings. Mahrez is rated at 85 in FIFA 17 and will be one of the few 5-star skill players from the Premier League.

#5 Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich)

Another Bayern man who is devastating when he gets on the skill train. Ribery is rated at 86 and has a rating of 90 when it comes to dribbling. FIFA 17 users will be after Ribery’s card in the Ultimate Team as Ribery can give any side an advantage over the others. One issue with Ribery is his stamina as often near the half-way mark, he starts to lack the pace and is not as effective. Given his 5-star skills and dribbling abilities, he can be an impact substitute for the gamers in FIFA 17.

#4 Angel Di Maria (PSG/Argentina)

As a Manchester United supporter, it pains me to see him on the list but there is no denying the ability Di Maria has on the ball. PSG have benefited from Di Maria’s ill-managed time at Old Trafford who is now giving his best for the Ligue 1 Champions. Di Maria is rated 87 in FIFA 17 with a rating of 87 in both pace and dribbling.

#3 Paul Pogba (Manchester United/France)

One of the most sought after players in FIFA 17 will be Manchester United’s Paul Pogba. It is rare for a central midfield player to be given a 5-star rating in skills or dribbling but Pogba has it and that is where he will look to make a difference for United and for all the online players gunning after his card. Pogba is rated at 88 in the game and has a rating of 87 in dribbling and 87 in physical abilities which make him the best central midfield player in FIFA 17.

#2 Neymar (Barcelona/Brazil)

A player like Neymar can even bring a game like FIFA 17 to life with his sublime touches and insane skill moves. He has the pace (91), he can dribble (95) with ease and takes a mean shot (84) as well. He is the complete player for a user who loves to be on the offensive and win games just on the basis of skills. Neymar is rated at 92 in FIFA 17, which is only behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

#1 Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid/Portugal)

Speaking of Cristiano Ronaldo, it is the first time Portuguese has beaten Lionel Messi in FIFA ratings in recent season. Ronaldo is rated at 94 in the game which is one more that Messi’s 93. Ronaldo has a pace of 92, dribbling abilities of 91 and has a rating of 92 in terms of shooting. Good luck to the defenders playing against Ronaldo in the upcoming launch of FIFA 17.
