The official poster of SummerSlam 2018.

WWE fever is at its peak with SummerSlam ready to take Brooklyn's Barclays Center by storm in just a couple of days. SummerSlam will be streaming live on the WWE Network, which is free for new subscribers, and on pay-perview too.

The event is shaping up to be one of the best in recent memory with names like Daniel Bryan, Ronda Rousey, AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar featured in marquee match-ups.

As SummerSlam is WWE's second biggest event of the year, WWE will pull out all the stops to ensure a memorable event for the ages.

Expect to witness some shocking twists and turns this Sunday at SummerSlam. With that said, let's look at 3 shocking events that can transpire at SummerSlam.

1.Dean Ambrose turns on Seth Rollins

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

This past Monday on Raw, Dean Ambrose returned to a thunderous ovation to assist his brethren, Seth Rollins. Ambrose will be at Rollins' corner as Rollins fights Dolph Ziggler (with Drew McIntyre in his corner) for the Intercontinental Championship.

A heel turn for Ambrose has been heavily rumored, even before he went down with an elbow injury. Ambrose is still expected to turn on Rollins in the near future out of jealousy and envy of all that Rollins accomplished in Ambrose's absence.

WWE could very well pull the trigger on Ambrose's heel turn as soon as this sunday at SummerSlam.

2. The Rock returns to confront Elias

Will we see him at SummerSlam?

This one is inevitable in the event that The Rock is available for SummerSlam. Elias was in the midst of a rivalry with Bobby Lashley but a match wasn't announced between the two for SummerSlam which was contrary to expectations. In stead, WWE announced that Elias will be performing his greatest song at SummerSlam on the main show. This means that WWE has other plans in store for Elias which don't necessarily involve Lashley.

Given that Elias insulted The Rock in his hometown a few week ago and that The Rock has teased a potential return to the ring, it's extremely plausible that the two stars will have a confrontation in the near future.

Although, WWE might just have Lashley ruin yet another Elias segment. It's likely that the Rock may make a one-off appearance to shut down Elias.

3. Paul Heyman turns on Brock Lesnar and aligns with Roman Reigns

<p>
Roman Reigns can form an alliance with Heyman at SummerSlam.

Brock Lesnar might be leaving WWE for good after SummerSlam for UFC. That leaves the future of Paul Heyman in WWE with a lot of uncertainty. Heyman is a true legend and WWE shouldn't let him go with Lesnar. The best option for him would be to align himself with 'The Big Dog.' After all, Heyman teased it on television this week only for it to be a trap.

Heyman was attacked by Lesnar a few weeks ago and it seemed as if the duo were done, but it was all a part of a devious ploy to take Roman Reigns down. However, you can never rule out the possibility of a Heyman alliance with Reigns. Heyman has turned on Lesnar before, there's no reason for him to not turn on Lesnar especially after Lesnar's supposed betrayal.

Reigns hasn't found a way to beat Lesnar yet, but if Heyman turns on Lesnar, Reigns will definitely defeat Lesnar.
