3 major surprises that happened on Monday Night Raw

What can I say about this episode? This was one of the most eventful and shocking episodes of Monday Night Raw in recent memory. This week's Raw had some massive surprises.

The week before Evolution and two weeks before the Crown Jewel Event, the fans had been expecting a build-up to the two pay-per-views and this week's Raw had great story development and some amazing matches.

Raw was opened by Roman Reigns who announced a massive and surprising piece of information to begin the event. There was an interesting segment involving Elias and Corbin. At the end of Raw, there was another major surprise awaiting which involved one of the most beloved groups in WWE. And even more surprises on this week's Raw that shocked the fans.

#3 Elias's Face Turn

Elias is one of those performers that always gets a reaction from the crowd. Just a few weeks ago on Raw, Elias had the loudest and longest boo that a heel had in recent memory when he insulted the Seattle Supersonics alongside Kevin Owens.

On this week's Raw Elias defeated Apollo Crews and after that, he was about to perform. Corbin interrupted Elias's performance after the interference by Corbin, Elias smashed Corbin with his guitar.

Elias's face turn has opened many possibilities for Elias. With his incredible mic and in-ring skills, Elias can become a top babyface on Raw. He could use his singing skills to insult his opponents by making and singing songs about them just like the Rock used to do. We also have to wait and watch if there are going to be any repercussions of Elias attacking Corbin.

Elias's face turn was a great one, we have to wait and see whether WWE will push him as a babyface or keep him as a heel.

#2 Dean Ambrose's Heel Turn

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins won the Raw Tag Team Championships on Raw. Everyone expected that Roman Reigns will come out and the Shield will perform their signature Shield pose but it was a completely different story.

Dean Ambrose shocked the world by turning heel on a night when nobody expected him to. Ambrose laid out Seth Rollins by hitting him with a Dirty Deeds. It was the conclusion of weeks of storytelling resulting in a moment that had the crowd all hot and furious, fans were shocked that Ambrose attacked Rollins just seconds after winning the Tag Team Championships.

With these two as RAW Tag Team Champions, it will be interesting to see how the pair will co-exist, and just how long they will be champions.

Vince McMahon has always been a fan of Ambrose and this moment could perhaps create a star out of Ambrose, by becoming the most evil and sadistic heel WWE has seen in a long time.

Ambrose has the potential to become the top heel on RAW. He can tear the house down by having a feud against Seth Rollins.

#1 Roman Reigns vacates Universal Title due to Leukemia

This week's episode of Raw kicked-off in the most unusual and unexpected manner, Roman Reigns kicked-off Raw with a really big revelation about himself.

Roman announced that he has been fighting leukemia for the past 11 years and a recurrence has affected Reigns once again due to which he can not defend the Universal Championship and he has to relinquish the championship. He said that it was not a retirement speech and he will return soon after defeating the disease once again.

Reigns thanked the WWE Universe and the WWE management for giving him a chance when football didn't.

It reminded me of the championships relinquishments by Daniel Bryan and Finn Balor. It was a really emotional moment for Reigns as well as all the fans of Reigns and WWE. I hope that Reigns will get well very soon, return to the ring, win back the Universal Championship and show everybody why is he known as the 'Big Dog'.
