The WWE Royal Rumble is going to happen on 27 January at the Chase Field, Phoenix. Fans are very excited about this show as many big matches have been already booked.
From Brock Lesnar to Ronda Rousey and Daniel Bryan to Asuka, almost every big superstar is going to be at the show. Other than that, many wrestlers have also confirmed their entrances in the Royal Rumble match. Seth Rollins is currently rumored to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match whereas Becky Lynch is favorite to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Becky Lynch’s victory is quite obvious as her match against Ronda Rousey is a dream match to many but Rollins’ victory might not be good for the company.
No, I don’t hate Rollins and in fact, I’m a huge fan of him but I think he should not win this year’s Royal Rumble match.
Here are 5 reasons why.
#5 It’s so predictable
The WWE has recently announced a change in their products and in my opinion ‘predictable results’ really needs to change. Last year, we saw many great matches but the only problem with them was that they were so predictable.
I know WWE can't change a match result every time just because "it’s predictable" but at least they should try to do this whenever possible.
Royal Rumble is known for shocking the fans with surprise entrances to unpredictable results but in this case, everyone knows that Rollins is going to win this match. If it’s true then maybe the company should change their plans. Rollins' victory is rumored for a very long time and this could be the time where the WWE could shock the world by having someone else win the match.
By doing so, the WWE could make this event more exciting.
#4 He doesn’t need to win the Royal Rumble to feud with Brock Lesnar
Rumors have already revealed that Rollins could win the Royal Rumble match and then challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Champion. But, is this really necessary?
Here’s the thing.
Rollins has been taunting Lesnar for his part-time schedule from a very long time and he has already mentioned his name in his promos. This all indicated only one thing - that Rollins is going to face The Beast in future for the Universal Championship.
Lesnar's part-time schedule could be the reason for Rollins to feud with him, but it doesn’t mean that he needs to win the Royal Rumble match. He could start a rivalry with Lesnar by challenging him directly or winning a number one contender's match.
Roman Reigns did this last year, and so can Rollins.
#3 Lesnar may not be champion after the Royal Rumble
From the past few weeks, we have been thinking heavily about Rollins vs Lesnar match at Wrestlemania. So much so that many of us forget that Lesnar could lose his championship.
This week, the WWE canceled Strowman's Royal Rumble match and added Finn Balor into it. Maybe Balor is going to defeat The Beast to become the Universal Champion for the second time.
There’s also a reason why this could happen. Lesnar is a part-time champion and as we all know, the fans want to see a full-time Universal Champion in the company.
Lesnar’s title reign is only hurting the Championship, and that could be the reason why Finn Balor will defeat him at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. If Lesnar isn’t going to retain his championship at the show, then there’s no reason why Rollins should win the Royal Rumble match.
#2 He has already feuded with The Beast
Lesnar vs Rollins is a big rivalry and we all know that.
However, we already saw this rivalry a few years ago, when Rollins was the WWE Champion. The only difference was that Rollins was a heel and Lesnar was more of a face, but now it’s the opposite. Rollins could get some benefit with this rivalry but there are many other wrestlers who need to win against Lesnar.
Lesnar vs Rollins isn’t going to be the best rivalry as the latter is already an established superstar in the company and the fans love him. What I’m saying is that if the WWE puts someone else against Lesnar then it could benefit them even more.
I think the WWE should do a Lesnar vs Lashley rivalry in the upcoming months.
#1 Drew McIntyre is the Chosen One
We all know that McIntyre is the Chosen One who has impressed the boss Vince McMahon. McIntyre first run in the company didn’t work how it was thought but after reshaping himself, the Scottish Psychopath has shown everybody that he is going to become the biggest heel in the WWE.
After debuting on the main roster last year after Wrestlemania 34, McIntyre has done a lot of big things that only a few have been able to do. He has also defeated Kurt Angle on Monday Night Raw.
It’s clear that he is going to achieve more big things in the future and beating Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 35 could be one of them. There were some talks that McMahon is thinking to do a Lesnar vs McIntyre match this year and if it’s true, then it could be the biggest thing McIntyre will achieve this year.
Seth Rollins is already popular among the fans and he doesn’t need to defeat Lesnar as he has already achieved a lot in his career. However, if Drew McIntyre does the same thing then it would make his career.
