5 Factions That The Shield Destroyed

The Shield has always overcome the obstacles

The Shield have had their odds stacked up against them in a rivalry against not only Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler, but a large chunk of the RAW roster as well.

While The Shield has their backs against the wall, it's not an unfamiliar situation for them. For years, The Shield thrived on having their backs against the wall as its helped them bring out their aggressive side. And isn't that what they're most famous for?

The Shield didn't become the most popular faction in WWE by whining and complaining. They achieved it by being master tacticians, unrelenting aggressiveness and doing everything they could to get their way.

That's what makes The Shield so unique. Each member brings something different to the table, compensating for each other's weaknesses. Dean Ambrose is the mouthpiece, the lunatic and the wildcard of the group. Roman Reigns is the silent powerhouse of the group while Seth Rollins is the architect and the mastermind of the group.

With years of singles experience in their resume, imagine what they can bring together as a group. We look at The Shield's dominant run and five groups that they've put away, some comfortably, some not-so comfortably.

The veteran trio didn't stand a chance

Two minutes and fifty-six seconds. That's all it took for The Shield to demolish The New Age Outlaws & Kane. Leading into WrestleMania XXX, The Shield, who worked for The Authority for a long time found themselves on the other side of the fence, going against them.

They were assaulted time and again by The New Age Outlaws & Kane, who they had a match set up for at the grandest stage of them all. What happened in the ring was nothing but quick decimation.

The Shield put their stamp as the single most dominant faction of the century. But they wouldn't rest, as they would have their biggest challenge to date right after WrestleMania (we'll get back to this).

#4 Team Hell No & Ryback

Kane doesn't have the best record against The Shield

It was The Shield's debut match and they had already made a massive impact, just a month into their debut. First costing Ryback the WWE Championship at Survivor Series, they set their sights on Team Hell No & Ryback in a TLC match.

In an awe-inspiring debut, The Shield proved their teamwork and dominance as they took apart Kane, Daniel Bryan and Ryback. They would be victorious in their debut after a war. It was the beginning of something very special.

#3 The New Day

The New Day proved more than worthy opponents for The Shield

In a dream match, The New Day and The Shield went head-to-head at Survivor Series 2017. The New Day represented SmackDown Live while The Hounds Of Justice represented RAW.

The two teams played mind games and more when they invaded each other's shows. The New Day wasn't intimidated by The Shield, feeling that they would break up again in a matter of months.

The Shield would be victorious in an outstanding, faced paced bout. It was the perfect match to kick off Survivor Series.

#2 Team Hell No & Undertaker

Even The Undertaker couldn't contain The Hounds of Justice

Kane's bad luck with The Shield continued when he teamed up with The Undertaker to save Daniel Bryan from a Shield ambush. They would face off in a match in the United Kingdom where The Hounds Of Justice once again used their teamwork to outsmart the trio and pick up the victory.

Their run of dominance would only grow stronger.

#1 Evolution

The Shield snatched the torch from Evolution

After clearing The New Age Outlaws & Kane at WrestleMania, Triple H was forced to take the ultimate step when he reunited Evolution after ten years. They would take on The Shield in two consecutive Pay-Per-Views, with The Shield besting them on both occasions.

It was the culmination of The Shield's dominance as a faction, and tragically or not tragically (depending on what perspective you look at it), they would break up the following night after Seth Rollins took an offer he couldn't refuse. Either way, they proved once more why they're considered the most dominant faction in WWE history.
