Very few in WWE can match the wide variety of wrestling styles the company has to offer, but Rollins has always risen to the occasion displaying impressive aerial maneuvers, technical prowess and feats of strength.

But above all, it has been his chemistry with his great rivals in the WWE that has lead to some interesting segments and fantastic matches.

Rollins has had the least rivalries of his Shield brethren but has made up for it by having better rivalries with some of the opponents all three men have shared.

So to show Rollins some appreciation for keeping Monday Night Raw afloat, this article will list the 5 greatest rivals of Seth Rollins in WWE.

#5 Finn Bálor

And it's just gotten started
And it's just getting started

Finn Bálor and Seth Rollins were two success stories from NXT who managed to become widely popular on the main roster. So it would be expected that a feud between both men would be excellent.

However, their first match was not as impactful as it should've been with fans hating the Universal Championship and Bálor injuring his arm in the early part of the match.

When Bálor returned from injury in 2017, Rollins and Bálor began to cross paths a lot more which lead to a great rematch heading into the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

But as good as that match was, their matches in 2018 have blown their previous bouts out of the water and have helped make the Intercontinental Championship an even more important title.

Rollins and Bálor have barely scratched the surface as it pertains to their feuds, so expect bigger and better matches when these two cross paths again.

#4 Kevin Owens

<p>
The feud that defined the Universal Championship

Once Triple H betrayed Seth Rollins to help Kevin Owens become champion, we all knew that Rollins and The Game would cross paths again. But before that match happened, we got a got a solid feud between The Architect and The Prizefighter to carry us through the end of 2016.

Their first match against each other was the Fatal 4 Way match for the vacated Universal Championship, but the feud became a personal affair when Triple H got involved.

The biggest blight on the feud was the interference of Chris Jericho that plagued all their matches. Despite this fact, the matches they had always delivered and helped add to the prestige of the Universal title - before the part-timers took it away.

The feud officially came to an end on the post-Survivor Series episode of Monday Night Raw, but their most recent match for the Intercontinental Championship was fantastic and hopefully is a sign that the company plans to revisit the feud in the near future.

#3 Roman Reigns

The two biggest stars of The Shield
The two biggest stars of The Shield

Once The Shield broke up, Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins would be one of WWE's go-to matches for 2014 and 2015.

However, the company did their best to prevent giving either man big wins against each other and holding off until the time was right.

Though a match was planned for Survivor Series 2015, Rollins' knee injury pushed the match back further and set the stage for their hellacious main event at the 2016 Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

With Reigns as then champion and Rollins back from injury with a legit claim to the title, the timing was perfect for their title match.

It remains their biggest match to-date, but both men have faced off in singles matches since 2016 and none have been a letdown.

There haven't been as many significant matches between these two as you would expect, but where they make up for it is the fact that both Reigns and Rollins have been the closest to each other in terms of their push and success.

Those similarities have always made their matches more interesting and only a small preview of what they'd be capable of.

Rollins is currently defending the Intercontinental Championship while Reigns pursues the Universal Championship, but we'll be guaranteed some fantastic wrestling the next time these two cross paths again.

#2 John Cena

A feud that never ended
A feud that never ended

As Seth Rollins moved higher and higher up the card, he has always managed to cross paths with John Cena.

Rollins and Cena first squared off in six-man tag matches when Cena recruited wrestlers to take down The Shield, but their first singles match would finally happen in late 2013.

From there, Cena and Rollins faced each other a lot more frequently and the chemistry both men shared would only get better.

By 2015, Rollins versus Cena was a guaranteed classic and lead to an amazing double title match at SummerSlam that would've been perfect were it not for the celebrity interference.

And just when people thought that Rollins and Cena wouldn't have classic bouts for a while, WWE surprised us with another great match in the midst of a Gauntlet Match for Monday Night Raw.

After giving his all to defeat Roman Reigns earlier in the night, Rollins fought with every ounce of energy he had left and survived two AA's to defeat Cena clean in the middle of the ring.

Cena is slowly moving away from the WWE, but hopefully, we get to see these two wrestle a few more times.

#1 Dean Ambrose

A Great Heel and a Great Babyface
A Great Heel and a Great Babyface

The breakup of The Shield was a divisive topic when it happened and there were some people who felt WWE could've gotten more out of the group.

But whether you thought it was too early or not, it can't be denied that it gave us one of the best feuds of the modern era.

Ambrose and Rollins made WWE can't-miss TV when their feud kicked off in the summer of 2014 and led to some of the best segments and matches we've seen in the past few years.

Their first match that kickstarted their rivalry was the 2014 Money in the Bank Ladder Match that was filled with just enough chaos and violence between them to have fans desperate to see more of this rivalry in the future.

In 2015, their matches graduated from defining the midcard to a battle over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship that helped add credibility to Rollins as a world champion.

By 2016, WWE finally gave Ambrose his shot at the belt and Rollins was now the challenger chasing a champion who had beaten him in the past but could not defeat at the time.

Ambrose versus Rollins is undoubtedly a great feud and fans can't wait to see The Lunatic Fringe and The Architect go to war once again.

Hopefully, that war is right around the corner...
