5 Superstars who deserve better booking after Summerslam

Time for the Demon King to resurface again.
Time for the Demon King to resurface again.

Summerslam 2018 is now just a little over two weeks away, which means that a number of rivalries that have been going on in WWE in the post WrestleMania season will finally reach their closure in Brooklyn.

Even though WWE promotes Summerslam as the Second Biggest Event after WrestleMania, one can make a very strong argument that, if we take out the attendance and the prominence factor, Summerslam is as important to WWE as 'Mania when it come to presenting the best wrestling product to the fans.

Anyhow, this year's Summerslam will, hopefully, feature the final encounter between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, and will also bring an end to the disappointing storyline between Alexa Bliss and Ronda Rousey. The storylines on the Blue Brand, however, look destined to carry on beyond Summerslam, with AJ Styles and Samoa Joe fighting for the WWE Title and Charlotte-Becky reigniting their rivalry.

Since we will see a plenty of new rivalries ignite in the post Summerslam period, it would be nice to see some wrestlers some serious rivalries leading to the Survivor Series season. It is about time that they get their dues for the contributions, or horrendous booking maybe, that they gave for the company. These five superstars/teams, especially, deserve better booking after Summerslam to stay relevant in WWE.

#5 Kevin Owens

After this spot, Kevin deserves to even defeat Brock Lesnar.
After this spot, Kevin deserves to defeat even Brock Lesnar.

2018 has not been so kind to WWE's Prize Fighter. After being a part of some of the most important rivalries on the Blue Brand throughout 2017, Kevin Owens stock started to take a drop just as we entered this year. Even though he was still involved in high profile feuds with the likes of Shane McMahon, AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan, he was on the losing end of each of them.

When it seemed that he might find his lost mojo upon his return to Monday Night Raw, he was booked into a feud with, of all people, Braun Strowman, and we all know how that has panned out so far. While the feud has been enjoyable in parts, it has been nothing but a showcase of Braun's power. All Kevin has done in this feud is get himself humiliated at every corner and act as Braun's rag doll.

Kevin Owens is a precious commodity who deserves to be treated one. After the stunt that Strowman performed on him at Extreme Rules, Owens deserves a high profile feud after Summerslam. Rumors are that he is scheduled to win the Money in the Bank briefcase from Braun at Summerslam, and feud with Roman Reigns in the future, which is exactly what he deserves now. In 1998, a fall in Pittsburgh changed Mick Foley's career. Now, 20 years later, it is time for another fall in Pittsburgh to change Kevin Owens' future.

#4 Sanity (Eric Young, Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe)

Were these guys not supposed to be unstoppable on the main roster?
Weren't these guys supposed to be unstoppable on the main roster?

Does Vince McMahon really hate the guys from NXT? From the way some of them, well most of them, have been treated on the main roster, the answer seems to be a big yes. Apart from Charlotte, Samoa Joe, and Alexa Bliss, none of the NXT graduates have reached the heights that they were destined to upon their main roster. Is the same thing going to happen with Sanity?

Well, we hope it doesn't. The trio of Eric Young, Killian Dain, and Alexander Wolfe is one of the most intimidating group in the entire WWE. The trio was rumored to be the one to end the Bludgeon Brothers' untouchable title reign upon their arrival on Smackdown. However, not only are they not facing the Brothers are Summerslam, the group has lost two of their first three matches on the main roster.

I understand that the Smackdown tag team division is now more stacked than it ever was, but it is just baffling to see Sanity lose to New Day twice already. Young and Dain are championship material, and they deserve a run with the Tag Titles sooner than later. Considering the way they have been treated so far, especially after their sensational work in NXT, this trio needs to run wild on the blue brand sooner, or they will also join the rest in the long list of obscurity.

#3 Finn Balor

What has Balor done to deserve this?
What has Balor done to deserve this?

Remember the Good Ol' Days when Balor was giving career-defining performance at the Royal Rumble and regularly wrestling instant classics with the likes of Seth Rollins and The Miz? Oh Yeah, that was only a few months ago. But the way Balor has been booked in the months after WrestleMania has made this period feel like a time phase that has existed since eternity.

Balor is a gem of a wrestler, and he has proven this time in and time out inside the WWE ring, but it seems like WWE wants nothing with his Greek God looks or his smooth in-ring work. Instead, they want him to be a part of meaningless skits and matches and walk around with that creepy smile on his face.

I know it is pretty clear that Balor won't ever reach the top of the ladder again, but that doesn't mean he should not be part of any reasonable feud. After all that Balor has endured in the past few months, the only way to make up for that is by having him feud with Dolph Ziggler and maybe even win the Intercontinental Title. Balor is a true workhorse, and he deserves to wear the workhorse's title at least once around his waist.

Take that bloody smile off his face, bring the Demon back, Give him the Intercontinental Title as see the magic that he will create in the coming months.

#2 Asuka

The Fallen Empress of Past.
The Fallen Empress of Past.

It is a proven fact that superstars usually tend to endure a big fall in credibility once they endure their first loss after a long undefeated streak. The only reason why The Undertaker was the king of WrestleMania, or Goldberg was the Main Man in WCW, was because they had the tag of being undefeated for a long time.

While both of them somehow managed to retain their aura because of the way they were presented in the aftermath, the same can not be said about Asuka. Once regarded as the most dominant female superstar in the entire WWE, the booking has not been so kind to the Empress of Tomorrow. Ever since she lost her 914 days streak to Charlotte, Asuka has lost to, of all people, Carmella three times. Three Goddamn Times.

Asuka was a phenomenon in NXT. She is sensational in the ring and has a wrestling style that is second to no one in the company. While the damage that WWE has inflicted on Asuka since WrestleMania is far from repairable, anything would be better than completely turning her into the Fallen Princess of the Past. Asuka was great as heel in NXT, and, with fan favorites like Becky Lynch and Charlotte vying for the title, a feud with either of them once they win the title would be the perfect way to start the rehabilitation process of Asuka

#1 Bobby Lashley

WWE better give him a meaningful feud before its too late.
WWE better give him a meaningful feud before its too late.

WWE brought back the hottest superstar on the entire TNA roster, someone who was the only thing on Impact Wrestling, and straightaway turned him into a fodder for their so-called Big Dog. Bobby Lashley's treatment has been nothing short of a surprise to the fans so far.

The biggest mistake the WWE made was that they brought Lashley back as a Clear cut Good Guy. However, if there was one thing that his stint with TNA taught me, then it was that Lashley is a far better heel than he is a face. On top of that, they waited for over a month before finally giving him his first real feud. And I guess it would be a lot better if we didn't talk about that horrendous feud with Sami Zayn that destroyed both of their charms.

Lashley has floundered so badly on the main roster in the last four months that, as of this day, he is not even scheduled to be on the Summerslam card while Roman Reigns, the man he beat at Extreme Rules, is fighting for the Universal Title, again. Time is running out for Lashley in WWE, and it would be a shame for both him and WWE if he, just like a lot other, got lost in the shuffle.

Lashley is someone who should either be holding the World Title or fighting for it. If WWE really wants to make full use of his potential, they will certainly keep him in the Universal Title picture throughout the remaining months of 2018.
