5 surprises which could happen in WWE after Crown Jewel

RAW once again has a part-time champion
RAW once again has a part-time champion

Perhaps the most controversial pay-per-view in the recent history of WWE has been done and dusted. The booking of the entire show was quite questionable, but at the end of the day, it was a historic and memorable show.

The event saw the return of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, the in-ring return of Shawn Michaels after 8 years, Shane McMahon winning the WWE World Cup by defeating Dolph Ziggler, the WWE Champion retaining his title once again, and The Beast Incarnate destroying Braun Strowman to win his second Universal Championship.

While the booking decisions were baffling, the in-ring performances when given time were amazing.

Here are 5 surprises which could happen in the weeks to come after WWE Crown Jewel.

#5 AJ tames the Beast

Will AJ Styles be the one to slay The Beast?
Will AJ Styles be the one to slay The Beast?

The controversial booking of Brock Lesnar winning the Universal Championship once again after a lacklustre first run, and AJ defending his WWE Championship, meant that the WWE Universe will once again probably witness The Beast going one-on-one against AJ Styles in a champion versus champion bout at Survivor Series later this month.

This is the exact rematch from Survivor Series last year, where Brock Lesnar defeated AJ Styles in a hard fought battle. That was the best match Brock has had in recent times by a country mile. The length of the match was the one thing that stood out.

One can be sure that this time will be no different. In the absence of The Big Dog, AJ Styles is the company's biggest babyface. AJ's run as the WWE Champion has not been quite memorable, due to some poor booking, but a win against Brock Lesnar could bring back the prestige of the championship.

#4 Hulk Hogan becomes the new RAW general manager

Hulkamania runs wild on RAW

RAW has been lacking a full-time general for a long time now. While Baron Corbin's run as the interim RAW general manager has been impressive, Baron's primary role is being an active competitor, and it is about time Baron does what he knows the best.

Kurt Angle proved to everyone that he still has petrol in his tank to continue as a wrestler, and his role as the General Manager could come in the way of this. His frequent botches while delivering promos has had negative effects on his job as GM.

Who better than a returning Hulk Hogan to become the new general manager of the RAW brand. Despite all the controversy, Hulk Hogan is an icon of the wrestling business, and it would be good to see him on a weekly basis.

#3 Bray Wyatt aligns with Luke Harper

This could be career redemption for both these wrestlers
This could be career redemption for both these wrestlers

If there was a poll held for the most underrated wrestler in WWE right now, then Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper are the two strong favorites to win this poll. But the sad thing with WWE is that they have no idea how to use them.

Dean Ambrose turning on Seth Rollins just after winning the RAW tag team championship, throwing the title away, watered down the prestige of the championship. This combined with the lack of credible tag teams in the RAW division except for teams such as Authors of Pain and The Revival.

The pair of Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper could be the team that takes the RAW tag team division to another level. They could also reunite themselves with Braun Strowman, replacing The Shield as the top stable in WWE.

#2 Shane McMahon turns heel

Is he really the Best in the World?
Is he really the Best in the World?

The booking of most of the show was puzzling, but the decision to make Shane McMahon replace The Miz in the finals of the tournament to win the WWE World Cup bewildered most fans.

Seeing Shane celebrate the final victory, and Micheal Cole calling it overreacting, could be signs that a Shane McMahon heel turn is definitely on the cards. How and why is for the WWE to decide, but now this could be one of the biggest surprises to follow.

While this angle could be just set up for the RAW vs SmackDown Live traditional 5-on-5 tag team match at Survivor Series, a heel turn from the commissioner can be good for SmackDown as it has never had a heel authority figure. The heel Shane could feud with the likes of Daniel Bryan and Rey Mysterio.

#1 Shawn Michaels returns for one more match

Shawn was easily the best of the four wrestlers in the match
Shawn was easily the best of the four wrestlers in the match

The most decorated wrestler in the history of WWE returned to in-ring competition after 8 and a half years, and he was easily the best wrestler in the match, although it included only veterans of the industry.

He is not the wrestler he was in his prime, but he still has a few more matches left in the tank, his moonsault off the top-rope is a testimonial to this statement.

Shawn Michaels v AJ Styles, Shawn Michaels v Seth Rollins, Shawn Michaels v Daniel Bryan, and Shawn Michaels v Johnny Gargano. These are a few dream matches the WWE Universe would love to see in the near future.

The match at WWE Crown Jewel was a clear indication that it won't be the last time we will seen Shawn competing in-ring.

Comment on the matches you would like to see Shawn take on at WrestleMania 35.
