5 Wrestlers WWE Should Sign Right Now

The Rock Stone Cold

No matter what people say about WWE, it is still the most popular pro-wrestling show across the globe. WWE superstars are instantly recognized wherever they go in the world and receive overwhelming reception.

Although the popularity is in tact, the quality of the product has considerably degraded in the last 4-5 years. This is the reason lesser-known promotions like New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring Of Honor, Impact Wrestling, etc. are gaining huge momentum and massive following with each passing day. Therefore, WWE need to import some attractive talent from other promotions to ensure they stay ahead of their competition.

What WWE could really use are wrestlers who can make the audience go nuts with their in-ring ability and mic skills. Here are the '5 wrestlers WWE should sign right now'.

#5 Zack Sabre Jr.

There are very few technically sound wrestlers who compare to Zack Sabre Jr., also known as the "technical wizard", and there certainly isn't a better submission specialist in the pro-wrestling industry than him at the moment.

Zack's in-ring ability is what WWE desperately needs right now. He is someone familiar with the big leagues as he has previously participated in the inaugural WWE Cruiserweight Classics in 2016, although he never signed a permanent contract following that.

The British wrestler is currently plying his trade in Japan with NJPW. But who knows, with the dire need of technical prowess on Raw and SmackDown, Zack could be the next major wrestler WWE approaches to sign for NXT.

#4 Batista

In 2014, WWE figured the fans might accept Batista as the new face of the company but it didn't quite turn out as expected for him.

Nothing went according to plan for the Animal as he was continuously booed by the crowd--akin to the reception Roman Reigns generates from the crowd today. Soon, Batista left the company and has since appeared in a number of Hollywood blockbusters.

However, now is a good time for the former world champion to come back and introduce himself as a heel. The lack of interesting villainous characters on the roster, right now, begs for a flagship name to intervene and make the negative gimmick great again.

#3 Kazuchika Okada

Another wrestler from NJPW, Okada is an exceptional athlete growing in popularity by leaps and bounds. He is the longest-reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion in history at 720 days and also holds the record for the most successful title defenses at 12.

It comes as no surprise that the Japanese superstar is considered as one of the most decorated champions in NJPW's history. Okada's matches with the likes of Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho are instant classics.

The fact that Okada is just 30 years old makes him a very attractive investment for WWE.

#2 CM Punk

2011 Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards - Awards Room

CM Punk is arguably one of the greatest wrestlers in WWE's history. The fact that the fans still chant his name during shows is testimony to his stardom.

The Straight Edge Superstar's heel turn when he hit The Rock with his Go-To-Sleep finisher is still fresh in the minds of the WWE Universe as one of the most memorable heel turns of this decade.

Punk's legendary feuds with John Cena, Daniel Bryan and The Undertaker are the perfect highlight reel stuff. The Second City Saint's 'pipebomb' promos and his vibe among the audience were truly phenomenal and unprecedented.

Just imagine the reaction of the crowd when Punk's 'Cult of Personality' theme hits the arena speakers once again. Now calculate the probability of that occurring--yes, very less but still something.

#1 Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega is a high-octane performer. He possesses thunderous strikes, powerful slams and various acrobatic moves. The ease with which he pulls off his moves is simply scintillating. Courtesy of his wrestling skills, he is the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in NJPW.

The Canadian wrestler's soaring popularity around the world resulted in him taking the #1 spot on PWI's list of top 500 wrestlers in the world. In fact, Omega is also a big factor for NJPW's rising prominence on the pro wrestling scene.

Omega's feud with Okada was voted as 'Feud of the Year', for 2017, by Wrestling Observer Newsletter and, rightly so, keeping in mind the incredible match ratings they earned for their work inside the ring.

Without a doubt, Kenny Omega is the top target WWE should be chasing with all their effort. He is the hottest wrestler you'll find on the independent circuit at the present and thus deserves to top this list.
