5 WWE Wrestlers Who May Benefit Following Roman Reigns' Revelation

Shield reunited for the last time?

Roman Reigns missed some live events, and it only indicated that either he is injured again or there is something the WWE hasn't told us about. This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw came with a shocking announcement where the Universal Champion, Roman Reigns revealed that he is battling against Leukemia (aka blood cancer).

In such circumstances, he cannot wrestle and had to relinquish his Universal Championship as well. He did say that he will come back again in the WWE once he gets done with Leukemia, but is it that easy?

Even if he wins his battle against Leukemia a question comes, will he get his position back in the company?

Finn Balor was once the main event superstar, but after getting injured during his match against Rollins at Summerslam 2016, he never got his main event position back. If this could happen to him, then there is a chance that Reigns may have to suffer this as well.

However, his illness could change the careers of many WWE superstars if the WWE does the right thing. Here are such five wrestlers who could take advantage of this situation.

#5 Finn Balor

Second wrestler ever to defeat him clean via pinfall

Finn Balor was a top star during his time in Independent Circuit, NJPW and even NXT. But, his debut on the main roster did more harm than good to him. He earned a title shot for the Universal Championship after defeating Reigns and became the second wrestler ever to pin him clean.

At this moment, heel Lashley has his eyes on the Irish Man and there exists a feud between them. However, Lashley’s heel turn seems like a good move for him as the Raw roster currently need some good heels on the show.

Finn Balor could involve himself in the Universal Title scene, and maybe he will win it too. It has seemed like the WWE had given up on him after his injury and this is why he never received the treatment he deserved, but now as Reigns is ill, Balor may become a top star again.

#4 Dean Ambrose

He turned heel but was that a right time?
He turned heel but was that a right time?

After returning from injury on this year, Ambrose was all set to take things to a new level, but the WWE wasn't looking for the same, and instead, they used him to get the fans over with Reigns.

Later, they made us believe that Ambrose is going to turn heel against his Shield brothers in a week or so, but this week after knowing Reigns' condition, no one would have ever thought of Ambrose turning heel.

A match was already booked for the main event for this week where Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were set to face Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre for the Raw Tag Team titles. The Shield ended up becoming the new Raw Tag Team Champions but then, all of a sudden, Ambrose turned against Rollins.

The Raw roster was already feeling the absence of heel superstars, but now things may change for good. Ambrose’s heel turn could become the change he needed to convert himself into the main event superstar like his former teammate Seth Rollins.

Now Reigns is no longer a champion, and therefore it wouldn't be shocking if Ambrose, somehow, finds a way to get the title on his shoulders.

#3 Bobby Lashley

He should dominate now
He should dominate now

Following his return at the Raw after Wrestlemania 34, Lashley was struggling to become a big in-ring wrestler, thanks to the WWE Creative Team. He feuded with the likes of Sami Zayn and Jinder Mahal and as a result, lost all of his momenta. He then feuded with Kevin Owens only to turn heel.

How is Reigns’ situation connected with Lashley, I heard you ask?

Lashley is a threat to his opponents in and outside of the ring as he has a pretty good MMA record. But the company was giving the highest priority to Reigns and because of that Lashley’s booking wasn't considered. Every superstar had the same problem, but Lashley is different.

He has a good body physique that allows him to dominate in-ring and after aligning Lio Rush into his side, he could become a top heel. WWE needs to realise how much potential he has and what he could become after getting the right push.

#2 Braun Strowman

He is a deserving wrestler
He is a deserving wrestler

The Universal Championship may “Get These Hands” or at least be held by the hands of Braun Strowman as he is currently scheduled to face The Beast at WWE Crown Jewel for the vacant Universal Championship. If Reigns had not get ill, then one wouldn't even think of Strowman winning the title.

The WWE will never think of stripping Reigns from his championship just after a few months of winning it from Brock Lesnar. Now as he had relinquished his title, Braun Strowman will face The Beast for the vacant Universal Championship.

Now 'The Beast' is preparing for his upcoming UFC fight against Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier, and this whole thing indicates that Strowman may win his first singles championship at the WWE Crown Jewel.

Reigns’ condition was unfortunate, but at least it could help Strowman a bit to get what he deserves, the Universal Championship. He could do wonders as a Universal Champion

#1 Roman Reigns

Thank you Roman
Thank you Roman

You might be surprised to see Reigns name in this spot but wait, let me explain.

Roman Reigns never got a clear face reaction from the fans for a long time. He got cheers from the fans when he was in The Shield, but that was not enough for him. WWE wanted him to replace Cena as the face of the company, but they failed to do this.

In this week’s episode of Raw, he announced his battle with Leukemia and anyone who watched the Raw or was present in the arena know how emotional it was. They booed him every time he made his entrance or defeated a fan favourite, but this week, he got the “Thank You Roman” chant from the audience.

We will not see him fighting in the ring for some months but when he will return to the company many things will be changed and maybe the fans will start liking him as well!

It usually takes up to tw years to cure this disease but if he gets the reaction the company wants from him, then definitely it will be worth the wait.

We wish Roman Reigns a fast recovery.
