The women's Royal Rumble has been announced. Will there be new faces?

The first-ever women's Rumble was announced last night and we know the Royal Rumble Match usually sees one or two surprise entrants.

We will, without a doubt, have a mixture of Raw, SmackDown Live, NXT and possibly Mae Young Classic Superstars, but will there be anyone else? We have a look at the possibilities.

#7 Michelle McCool

Michelle McCool was one of the first people to tweet her congratulations last night when the announcement was made, and at only 37 years old, she could definitely make a return.

Michelle is married to The Undertaker, so it hasn't been long since we spotted her on TV as she appeared in the front row of WrestleMania, but the two time Women's Champion, two time Divas Champion and former Diva of the Year is an incredible talent in her own right, and would be a great addition to the Rumble!

#6 The Bella Twins

Okay, so we may be slightly cheating here, both by predicting two people in one slot, and because we know Nikki is likely to be back, and Brie has said she aims on returning in the future too.

Both Bella Twins have been a HUGE part of WWE for many years and are seen as massive stars, shifting loads of merchandise and being massive fan favourites.

Could we see some Twin Magic at the Rumble? We hope so.

#5 Trish Stratus

Perhaps one of the most popular female wrestlers of all time, Hall of Famer Trish Stratus would always be welcomed back by the fans.

Since her retirement, we haven't seen much of her as she has opted for a quiet life to start a family, making only the odd appearance on Network specials.

#4 Lita

Ente

Another Hall of Famer, and one inducted by Trish Stratus.

Fans have been clamouring for Lita to return for at least one more match, and it would only be fitting for one of the females who is seen as an innovator of women's wrestling to return for this match.

Lita has been a mainstay on WWE TV since retiring, she was a trainer on Tough Enough, appeared on pre-shows and doing colour commentary during the Mae Young Classic.

#3 Beth Phoenix

Now, the WWE Hall of Famer has already been in a Royal Rumble matchup, so if she's willing, we think she might be more likely than not to appear for this historic event.

She is officially retired, but she's only 37 years old. Hence, it's not out of the question at all. We'd love to see this dominant force back in WWE.

#2 Kharma/Awesome Kong

Now, this is my favourite option of all. Can you imagine Nia Jax clearing the house and then Kharma comes out to face her?

Kia Stevens has more recently been known for her role in GLOW, but she was somewhat of a cult figure in WWE and a dominant force in Impact Wrestling. She would definitely make an impact in a Royal Rumble match!

#1 Ronda Rousey

En

The rumours were already here before the Royal Rumble with her already appearing on WWE TV on more than one occasion, including at WrestleMania, but as soon as the Royal Rumble was confirmed, her name was all over the internet.

In fact, the Wrestling Observer Radio speculated that WWE is planning Asuka vs Rousey for WrestleMania, which is why Asuka has seemingly changed her main submission to an armbar(which was also Rousey's speciality during her UFC run).

According to the reports, she has already been spotted at the Performance Center, and if she's in it, there's a good chance she may even win it, but could January be too soon? We'll have to wait and see.
