From the WWE Rumor Mill: Latest update on the expected WrestleMania 34 match card

WrestleMania 34 is coming together
WrestleMania 34 is coming together

What's the story?

On the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer detailed all of the matches for WrestleMania that he is currently aware of, and I have to say this match card is looking pretty interesting for the WWE Universe, to say the least!

In case you didn't know...

The road to WrestleMania has begun with the Royal Rumble out of the way. We know that Asuka will be facing either Alexa Bliss or Charlotte at 'Mania unless one of them drops the title before then, and we know that currently, Shinsuke Nakamura will challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Title.

The heart of the matter

However, Dave Meltzer discussed the full WrestleMania card in the most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter and indicated that some matches we already knew about were still tentatively going ahead, such as the proposed Cena Vs. Undertaker match

Unless Undertaker backs off, his match with Cena would be also heavily pushed. Given Cena is in the Chamber match, the earliest they’d start building the Cena vs. Undertaker program would be 2/26.

He then also confirmed that the Styles Nakamura match would be taking place, ruling out any pre-WrestleMania shenanigans. And that the previously rumoured Miz vs Strowman match was still on the cards.

Styles vs. Nakamura for the WWE title and Miz vs. Strowman for the IC title are also planned.

Other matches being considered for the card, particularly in the women's division are as follows.

Other matches heavily talked about this week would be the respective women’s title matches, Bliss vs. Jax and Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka as things stood over the weekend.

Finally, Metlzer discussed the planned Jason Jordan Vs. Seth Rollins match and noted it might not actually go ahead as doubts over Jordan's injury status continue.

Given the storyline in recent weeks, there looked to be a Jason Jordan vs. Seth Rollins direction but nothing regarding Jordan can be locked in right now.

Oh yeah, we can't forget the 'Mania Battle Royals now can we!

There will be one, if not two Battle Royals, to get everyone on the show.

What's next?

If Dave Meltzer is accurate here, then that means the WrestleMania card will be as follows

-- Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar - WWE Universal Title

-- AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura - WWE Title

-- John Cena vs The Undertaker

-- Jason Jordan vs. Seth Rollins

-- The Miz vs Braun Strowman - Intercontinental Title

-- Cruiserweight Title Tournament Final

-- Alexa Bliss Vs Nia Jax - RAW Women's Title

-- Asuka vs Charlotte - SmackDown Live Women's Title

-- Ronda Rousey W/. Partner vs Triple-H and Stephanie McMahon

Naturally, we still need to get people like the US Champion Bobby Roode, both Tag-Team Champions, and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn on the card, plus maybe Daniel Bryan if he wrestles again.

Author's take

What do you guys think of that WrestleMania card so far? What changes would you make and what matches are you most excited about? I'm actually surprisingly looking forward to the Alexa Bliss Vs. Nia Jax match.
