From the WWE Rumor Mill: Kurt Angle's potential in-ring return date

Will the Wrestling Machine return to the ring next year at WrestleMania 34?

What’s the story?

Kurt Angle became the General Manager of Monday Night Raw on the night after WrestleMania 33, and there has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of his return to the ring. Cageside Seats is now reporting that if Angle does lace up his boots, it won’t be until WrestleMania 34.

In case you didn’t know...

Angle debuted on WWE programming in 1999 and quickly rose to fame for his fantastic wrestling ability. Angle proceeded to win multiple titles over the course of his WWE career until he left the company in 2006.

Angle then signed with Impact Wrestling and stayed with the promotion for 10 years before he left in early 2016. He was then inducted into WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year.

The heart of the matter

If this rumour is to be believed, then fans will have to wait until next year to see the Olympic Hero wrestle in WWE again. There is a possibility that the company hasn’t yet found an adequate opponent for Kurt Angle. However, it would be unwise to rule out the possibility that there is lots of concern over the former WWE Champion’s physical status.

What’s next?

Kurt Angle’s return to the ring depends on whether he can clear one of WWE’s infamous physicals. If the company’s doctors give him the green light, there is a bevvy of dream opponents waiting for Kurt Angle.

Author’s take

If this story is to be believed, then saving the in-ring return of Angle for WrestleMania would be an excellent way to boost interest in the company’s biggest show. Regardless of who his opponent is or what storyline leads to his return, the fans will be happy to see the Hall of Famer back in action.
