Hell in a Cell 2018: Predictions for every match at the pay-per-view

W
Will all members of The Shield leave Hell in a Cell with Championship Gold?

WWE's annual Hell in a Cell pay-per-view is just weeks away and it promises to be an exciting night of wrestling. Both Raw and SmackDown have been on fire these past few weeks and have a number of intriguing matches going into the event.

After almost a year of having the bland Brock Lesnar as the top guy of the company, the WWE finally have a new champion in the form of Roman Reigns. But his newly won title is already in danger as the 'Monster Among Men' Braun Strowman will be cashing in his Money in the Bank contract in a Hell in a Cell match.

AJ Styles and Samoa Joe have been embroiled in a deeply personal rivalry over the past few months, with Joe calling out Styles' family on multiple occasions. Will the WWE Champion be able to keep his composure when he finally faces his longtime rival? Or will Joe take advantage of the mind games and win his first WWE Championship?

The longstanding friendship between Becky Lynch and Charlotte came to an abrupt end when Lynch attacked Charlotte after seeing her Championship hopes go up in smoke at previous month's Summerslam. Now the friends-turned-foes will face off at Hell in a Cell for Charlotte's SmackDown Women's Championship.

With less than two weeks to go before Hell in a Cell, let us predict how the matches will turn out at the event.

#8. Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs The Miz and Maryse

Enter capt
The two real-life couples will face off at Hell in a Cell.

At one point of time it seemed like this would be a one-off match from Brie Bella. But now that it is clear that she intends to return to wrestling full time, this could drastically impact the result of this match.

If this was a one time appearance from Brie, it would have made sense for her and Bryan to get the win. But now the WWE might look to prolong this feud between The Miz and Bryan by handing him a second consecutive loss at the hands of The Miz.

Prediction: The MIz and Maryse def. Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella.

#7. Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy, Hell in a Cell match

Orton
Orton and Hardy will reignite their old rivalry at Hell in a Cell.

10 years ago, the WWE Universe would be salivating at the idea of a Hell in a Cell match between Orton and Hardy. Not so much now.

Clearly neither is the performer that they were in their early days. Years of jumping off of anything imaginable has finally started to take a toll on Jeff Hardy's body as he has looked a mere shell of his former self. Randy Orton has also been stagnant for years and cuts a disinterested figure in the ring these days.

But a recent return to his ruthless Viper gimmick has breathed new life into Orton and it is expected that WWE could use his newfound momentum for one last run at the top of the card.

Prediction: Randy Orton def. Jeff Hardy

#6. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre (C) vs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose for the Raw Tag Team Championship

Enter capti
The Shield has recently reunited.

Shockingly, Ziggler and McIntyre won the Raw Tag Team Championships from The B-Team a couple of weeks back on Raw and then successfully defended their newly won titles this past week. This set up a Raw Tag Team Championship match at Hell in a Cell with Rollins and Ambrose challenging Ziggler and McIntyre for the belts.

Rollins is already the Intercontinental Champion and if they manage to win the Tag Team Championships and Reigns retains as well, then The Shield will hold all the Championships on Raw. It will be a truly iconic moment to see the trio in the ring with all the Championships. Do not expect the WWE to let this opportunity slide.

Prediction: Rollins and Ambrose def. Ziggler and McIntyre to win the Raw Tag Team Championship.

#5. New Day (C) vs Rusev Day for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Ente
Interestingly, Hell in a Cell falls on Rusev Day!

Rusev & Aiden English defeated The Bar on SmackDown and will now be challenging the New Day for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at Hell in a Cell. The duo have been one of the most popular acts on WWE television for some time now but are yet to taste championship glory.

New Day on the other hand just won the titles from The Bludgeon Brothers a few weeks back. And although title changes do not occur so quickly anymore, we have to remember that the only reason New Day won the belts is because Erick Rowan suffered a terrible injury.

Hence, their place as Tag Team Champions is not as secure as one may think. Do not be surprised to see Rusev Day win the titles this Sunday.

Prediction: Rusev Day def. New Day to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

#4. Ronda Rousey (C) vs Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women's Championship

Rous
Rousey will defend her championship for the first time.

This is the easiest match to predict on the Hell in a Cell card. Rousey has been completely dominant since turning up in the WWE and destroyed Bliss just last month at Summerslam to win her maiden Championship in the WWE.

There is no reason for us to believe that the WWE will be taking the title off of Rousey just one month into her reign. While this match should be more competitive than their previous encounter, it should still be an easy victory for the former UFC Champion. Be prepared to see Bliss tapping out to the arm-bar one more time come Hell in a Cell.

Prediction: Ronda Rousey def. Alexa Bliss

#3. Charlotte (C) vs Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women's Championship

Lynch
Lynch has ended her friendship with Charlotte.

Charlotte and Lynch have been involved in a fiery rivalry over the SmackDown Women's Championship for the past few weeks. Their friendship came to a bitter end at Summerslam last month after she saw Charlotte become the SmackDown Champion by pinning her. Seeing months of hard work evaporate in smoke finally led to the Irish Lass Kicker to snap and she attacked her former best friend after the match.

Now the two will face at Hell in a Cell for the title. And while Becky Lynch might be the heel, she has the WWE Universe firmly by her side. The fans seem eager to see Lynch finally get her due and get to be called champion once again after years of frustration.

Lynch is red hot right now and the WWE would be foolish to not give her the Championship victory that she rightfully deserves.

Prediction: Becky Lynch def. Charlotte to win the SmackDown Women's Championship.

#2. AJ Styles (C) vs Samoa Joe for the WWE Championship

Joe seems to
Joe seems to Styles' number!

Another chapter will be added to the storied rivalry between these two men when they face each other at Hell in a Cell for the WWE Championship. The two have been involved in a deeply personal storyline over the past few weeks which has seen Joe play mind games with the WWE Champion by bringing up his family.

Both these men have amazing chemistry in the ring and the fans should expect them to steal the show at Hell in a Cell. But what has been more impressive is how they have managed to build up a great storyline in the limited amount of television time that they have been given over the past few weeks.

While Joe has been very impressive over the last few months, Styles seems to be set to break CM Punk's record of being the longest reigning champion in the modern era. And his championship reign is expected to continue past Hell in a Cell.

Prediction: AJ Styles def. Samoa Joe.

#1. Roman Reigns (C) vs Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal Championship

Enter captio
The 'Monster Among Men' will challenge 'The Big Dog' at Hell in a Cell.

Braun Strowman will cash in his Money in the Bank contract and challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in a Hell in a Cell match. This is clearly a tactic on Strowman's part to make sure that Rollins and Ambrose cannot interfere during the match.

After years of trying, Reigns finally managed to beat Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Summerslam but now faces a monstrous challenge in the form of Braun Strowman at Hell in a Cell. Mick Foley as the special guest referee will just add another layer to this contest.

While these two men are easily two of the strongest booked characters in the WWE, it is clear that the company is trying to get the fans on Reigns side by reuniting The Shield. There seems to be no way that they would allow Reigns to lose the Championship so early into his reign. When it comes to picking between Reigns and Strowman, we all know WWE's choice.

Prediction: Roman Reigns def. Braun Strowman.
