What's the story?

James Ellsworth had a dream run in WWE not very long ago. He was released from his contract late last year and has been an active competitor in the independent circuit ever since.

And now, from all indications, he could be headed to Impact Wrestling. Not only did Ellsworth show up at an event associated with the company, but also put out a Tweet teasing an Impact Wrestling run.

In case you didn't know...

James Ellsworth first appeared on WWE television as enhancement talent, as an opponent for Braun Strowman. Strowman got so over with the WWE Universe, that he was brought back for a full-fledged run. First, he had a storyline with Ambrose and Styles and later, he was portrayed as Carmella's male valet.

He also participated in the first inter-gender match in many years against Becky Lynch. Ellsworth was subsequently released from his contract and has become a notable figure in the independent circuit.

The heart of the matter

Impact Wrestling has had a history of working with talent that first got over in WWE. Ellsworth could be the latest to join the list and make the company his new home.

What set social media on fire however was a Tweet from Ellsworth teasing an even bigger role with Impact Wrestling. It remains to be seen if Ellsworth will come on board in the next lot of tapings when they do happen.

What's next?

Impact Wrestling has had a lot of talent step in and leave in recent times. Could Ellsworth be the latest of the lot to step into the picture and make his mark? Do his two hands have a fighting chance?

Author's take

It'll be cool to see Ellsworth mix it up with the other folk in Impact Wrestling. He could certainly have a very entertaining program with someone like Grado.

Maybe even a romantic tryst with Allie or Rosemary down the line?
