WWE Hell In A Cell 2018: 5 Swerves That Could Happen On The Show

Hell in a Cell takes place live from the AT&T Stadium in San Antonio, Texas this weekend and the card is looking stacked ahead of the show. It was announced last night that the main event will now see WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley holding up the rules as Braun Strowman cashes in his Money in the Bank contract against Roman Reigns inside Satan's Structure.

The final Raw before the show wasn't at the level that many fans expected, which could be why many believe that the pay off will be this weekend at Hell in a Cell since there are so many combustible elements. There is potential for shocks, surprises, returns and swerves this weekend and here are just five possible ideas that WWE could use as part of the show.

#5. AJ Styles' wife becomes part of the show

Wendy and Anney could be in attendance on Sunday night

AJ Styles and Samoa Joe have become well versed with one another throughout their lengthy careers, but never have they allowed their rivalries to become as deeply personal as the one that they are having right now. Joe decided to bring AJ's wife and children into the feud a few weeks ago and has continued to push the fact that he wants to retire Styles so that he can go home to his wife Wendy and help her to raise their children.

Wendy and her daughter Anney were at ringside for his match with Joe back at SummerSlam but they were unable to calm him down following his match with The Samoan Submission Machine where he was forced to use a chair to get the upper hand. The only real progression here would be for Wendy to actually physically become involved in the match and cost Styles his WWE Championship inadvertently. It would be the perfect way for Styles to capture the title and would tease a heel turn from AJ.

#4. Rusev Day implodes

Will Rusev Day finally implode?
Will Rusev Day finally implode?

Lana, Aiden English, and Rusev have definitely had their own fair share of issues in recent months after it was made clear that English was a problem for Rusev and Lana since he inadvertently cost them a number of matches a few weeks ago.

The duo has got past this recently and have since been able to climb their way up in the Tag Team Championship tournament to the point where they only have to defeat The Bar to be given a shot at the titles at Hell in a Cell.

An interesting swerve here would be if English was the reason why the duo was unable to pick up the titles at Hell in a Cell and that was finally the end of the tag team. Rusev Day would implode an English and Rusev would be handed the feud that they have been hinting for a while.

#3. Brock Lesnar returns

Will Brock Lesnar head over to Texas?
Will Brock Lesnar head over to Texas?

It might be a stretch right now to assume that Brock Lesnar would work two pay-per-views in a row, but there is a chance that when Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns collide inside the cell on Sunday night, it could be Brock Lesnar that settles the score.

Lesnar was denied his rematch at Hell in a Cell and there has been no talk of him coming back to WWE in the near future, which is why this would be a huge shock for the WWE Universe. An even bigger shock would be if Paul Heyman comes out to Brock Lesnar's music and unleashes his new stable which is said to contain Kevin Owens. Either way, Hell in a Cell could be the start of something special.

#2. Dean Ambrose heel turn

Will that heel turn finally happen?
Will that heel turn finally happen?

Whether we like it or not, every WWE fan right now is watching every Dean Ambrose twitch, facial expression, and physical trait in order to see if he's hinting that he is ready to finally turn on Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Ever since Ambrose returned ahead of SummerSlam, many fans have expected the rumored heel turn but right now he's embroiled in a feud with Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler so it isn't seen as one of the most likely swerves to happen this weekend.

If Rollins and Ambrose are fighting for the Tag Team Championships at Hell in a Cell this weekend, much like on Christmas Day when Rollins had to find a new partner because Ambrose couldn't compete and it would be karmic justice if there was a reason why the duo are unable to win the titles this time around.

#1. Wyatt Family Reunion

Braun Strowman is in a little bit of trouble...Who's he gonna call? Bray Wyatt.

Ok, so that isn't the way the song goes but given the fact that Bray Wyatt pushed Braun into the character that he is right now and has given him the boost he has needed over the years, it makes sense that he would call Bray back to help him overcome the odds at Hell in a Cell.

If Ambrose remains on the same side as his brothers this weekend then it's likely that Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt will join Braun Strowman inside Satan's Structure and the WWE Universe will be given a reboot of the 2014 feud between The Wyatt Family and The Shield in time for Survivor Series.
