WWE News: Arjan Bhullar reveals how Jinder Mahal convinced him not to become a pro wrestler

What did
What did Mahal say to make someone reconsider WWE?

What's the story?

Arjan Bhullar was the first Indian-born MMA fighter to win a UFC fight at UFC 215 and he recently spoke to The Sun in the UK where he revealed how Jinder Mahal's advice helped him make a decision to avoid taking a leap into the world of professional wrestling.

In case you didn't know..

WWE superstars are on the road a lot. When they're not making towns, it seems they're on their way to the next show or occupied with some kind of media obligation. Their schedule in comparison, is far more hectic than that of an MMA fighter, for certain.

The heart of the matter

Arjan Bhullar represented Canada at the 2012 London Summer Olympics where he competed in freestyle wrestling. Bhullar told The Sun he was in talks with both WWE and MMA regarding his next career move.

Then he reached out to someone in the pro wrestling business, who was more than glad to lend an ear and give some advice:

"I actually reached out to Jinder and asked him about the schedule and what it would look like if I were to take that opportunity [...] I realized how crazy it is - they're never at home. I'm a pretty family-orientated guy and I still have that competitive edge as well. For those two reasons I was able to go the UFC route."

What's next?

Jinder Mahal is going to continue on as the Modern Day Maharaja and Arjan Bhullar will keep preparing for his next fight in the Octagon, which could be sometime in March 2018 with an eye on their London card.

Author's take

The pro wrestling lifestyle is not for everybody and it takes a wise man to look at a career choice like that and realise that they cannot take the demanding nature of being a WWE superstar.

But who knows if Bhullar will find himself in the ring sooner or later, if only just for a training session or two with Jinder in future.
