WWE News: Undertaker spotted backstage on SmackDown Live

Undertaker was backstage at SmackDown

This week's episode of SmackDown Live took place in Birmingham, Alabama. We're now just weeks away from the Rumble but still got a disappointing episode from the blue brand. However, despite this, the main talking point didn't come from the show itself, but from backstage.

According to PWInsider, a certain undead WWE legend was present backstage during the show, which obviously kicked off rumours of his return on social media. This legend, is none other than The Undertaker, who we last saw facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania in a losing effort, only the second Mania loss of his star-studded career.

As of now, there hasn't been any word in particular about why Taker was at SmackDown Live but it could possibly have been to discuss plans for his big return on RAW's 25th anniversary episode on January 22nd.

Undertaker is set to return to WWE television for a special appearance along with a number of Legends including Stone Cold Steve Austin, 'Brother Love' Bruce Pritchard, Ted DiBiasie, Teddy Long, The Godfather and more.
