Episode #997 of SmackDown kicked off with R-Truth and Carmella in the ring for the debut of Truth TV. The special guest for the night was Daniel Bryan and Truth asked him about his match with The Miz at Super Showdown. Before Daniel could answer, Truth and 'Mella(with brand new hair) took a dance break. The Miz came out to take his segment back from Truth but he challenged Miz to a match to 'win it back'. Backstage, Miz went to complain to GM Paige but she also told Miz to go fight for it.
The Miz vs R-Truth
The Miz had control of R-Truth, catching his arms and failing to backslide, while Bryan was explaining to Corey Graves why The Miz's moves weren't working. The Miz nearly won by a count out and seemed to think that he'd won but R-Truth made it on time.
The Miz poked Truth in the eyes and hit the Skull Crushing finale before staring at Daniel Bryan. He then hit the running knee on R-Truth to win the match.
Result: The Miz def. R-Truth
We cut to a clip from earlier today where Charlotte was posing for photos. Becky Lynch attacked her from behind and stepped over her, telling the photographer to take pictures of her.
Sheamus vs Big E
Sheamus started off with a series of chops to his chest. Big E tossed Sheamus outside the ring and then hit a splash on Sheamus on the apron. E tried to hit a splash on Sheamus, only to get caught by his knees.
Big E went for the Big Ending but was caught with a Brogue Kick out of nowhere as Sheamus got the three count.
Result: Sheamus def. Big E
Paige was trying to talk reason into AJ Styles backstage over the contract signing and trying to ensure that it doesn't break down in chaos. AJ Styles said that he was just there to sign the dotted line
Rusev confronts Aiden English
Rusev was out to demand an answer from Aiden English. Aiden English came out and said that he may be angry, but none of what happened was his fault. Aiden English then explained that before he saw potential in him, he was floundering and lacked direction, with no one really caring about him
Aiden English said they were destined to be legends. He asked him "What happened?" and then told him, pointing to Lana, "She happened". Aiden English said if Lana is so honest, will she tell Rusev about that "one night in Milwaukee"?
Backstage, even Becky brought up 'Milwaukee' when Rusev and Lana were arguing among themselves. Rusev looked concerned about what the secret could be.
Naomi & Asuka vs Sonya DeVille & Mandy Rose
The match had already started when we returned from commercials. Mandy Rose & Sonya DeVille seemed to be double teaming against Asuka, preventing her from tagging in. Asuka hit a suplex and managed to tag Naomi in, while Mandy Rose was tagged in. She hit a really cool Hurricanrana and then kicked Rose right to the head.
Thanks to a momentary distraction, Rose managed to catch Naomi from behind and tag in DeVille. Asuka broke up a pin and then hit Rose with a hip attack, sending her outside the ring. Naomi made a quick tag and together, they hit a kick to the head for the win.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Tye Dillinger
Tye Dillinger started on the aggressive, hitting Nakamura with a series of strikes and then running into him. He taunted him with a "Ten". Nakamura soon caught him with a kick and then started stomping his head.
Nakamura was already in Kinshasa position. Dillinger escaped and knocked him down, following it with a frog splash. Randy Orton interfered and attacked Dillinger, throwing him into the ring post.
He brutally assaulted Dillinger, slamming him on the table outside. Nakamura hit a Kinshasa to Dillinger right against the ring apron after The Viper left and walked away himself.
Result: Shinsuke Nakamura vs Tye Dillinger ended in DQ
Becky Lynch vs Lana
Becky Lynch seemed to be toying with Lana. The Russian slapped Becky and took her down but the champ kicked out easily. Lana tried to go for a small package. Lana hit a huge kick to the head but it was not near enough.
Becky climbed to the top turnbuckles but Lynch pulled her legs from underneath, trying to set her up with the Bexploder. She landed it and hit the Disarmher for the win.

Superstar Showdown contract signing for AJ Styles and Samoa Joe
Paige was in the ring and AJ made his entrance first. Joe was nowhere to be seen and AJ called him out for being a coward. Joe came on the Titantron and he looked to be live on video from in front of AJ's house.
Joe taunted AJ, asking if he was feeling helpless and told him to remember the feeling as he'll feel the same way during their match at Superstar Showdown. Joe rang the bell and said 'Daddy's Home' before the show ended abruptly.
