WWE SmackDown Results, 4th September 2018; Latest SmackDown Live winners and video highlights

Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella kicked off the show and Renee was in the ring to interview them. Young showed footage of Miz and Maryze in an empty arena and the 'it' couple called out Bryan and Brie. Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega came out soon after and Almas challenged Bryan to a singles match that was up next.

Daniel Bryan vs. Andrade Cien Almas

Andrade hit a double moonsault and Daniel replied with the Yes kicks. The match went back and forth for a minute before Bryan hit the running knee for the three count.

After the match, Brie hit the running knee on Vega to pay her back for last week. As Cien and Vega were retreating, Miz and Maryze came on the Titantron and hyped their match for Hell in a Cell.

Result: Daniel Bryan def. Andrade Cien Almas

Becky Lynch and Charlotte came on the screen but they were in two different sets. They argued about who deserved the title more. Charlotte says Becky got her wish, a title match but she'll always be the second best wrestler in the ring.

Naomi vs. Peyton Royce

Peyton was in control early but Naomi managed to get a roll up on Royce for the win. As Naomi was celebrating, Kay hit her with a superkick to the head.

Kay and Royce hit their double finisher with Royce delivering a knee to the back of Naomi when Asuka made her return for the big save.

Asuka took out Kay and Royce and helped Naomi up as the IIconics retreated.

Result: Naomi def. Peyton Royce

Backstage, Paige told Miz he had to go out and face whoever wants to face him. Miz said he's not prepared but Paige wasn't having it. She said if Miz didn't go out there, he better not come back.

AJ Styles finally gets one over Joe

Samoa Joe came out next and called out Wendy Styles. After a bit of trash talking about how he cares about Wendy, Joe was rushed in the ring by Styles. Joe took out AJ and was about to hit him with a steel chair when Styles hit a forearm.

AJ tried to hit Joe with the chair but the officials came out and one of them took a big springboard move from Styles. Paige came out with more officials and sent AJ off.

Backstage, R-Truth wanted to call a truce with Carmella. He and the Miz were facing each other in the main event and he wanted Carmella to be ringside to support him. She was indifferent but then Truth told her Maryse called her names and Carmella got visibly mad and left.

SAnitY vs. Rusev Day vs. The Usos - No. 1 contender's qualifier for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Killian Dain and Jimmy Uso were in the ring and Dain went for a painful submission. Dain then hit a huge dropkick sending Jimmy out of the ring as we headed for commercials.

Eric Young was tagged in when we returned and Rusev tagged himself in. Rusev missed the Machka Kick and took a backbreaker as Aiden managed to tag in.

Dain was legal and hit a crossbody on English as Jey Uso tagged in. Rusev stole the tag and hit a machka kick on Eric Young and got the three count.

Result: Rusev Day def. SAnitY and The Usos

Rusev Day will face The Bar next week to determine The New Day's tag title challengers at Hell In A Cell.

The Miz vs. R Truth

The Miz and Maryse came out next and showed off a video package of them taking out Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella. R Truth came out with Carmella who seemed to have made a face turn for the night.

R Truth took control early but Miz hit a chop block and then a big boot to the face of Truth. Truth managed to get a near fall on Miz and The A-lister tried for a Skull Crushing Finale but Daniel Bryan's music hit.

Truth rolled up Miz after the distraction and got the pinfall as Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella came out to attack Miz and Maryze. The 'It' couple were being taken down, Almas and Vega came to make the save but were caught in two simultaneous Yes locks from Bryan and Bella as the Miz and Maryse made their exit.
