WWE SummerSlam 2018: All Shocking Things That Must Happen

The
The biggest party of the summer awaits us

This year's SummerSlam match-card looks disappointing to be really honest. There is no match that the fans are legitimately excited about, and if the creative team does not pull off a sensational shocker at the end of the night, this show could get worse.

The 31st SummerSlam will be live from the Barclays Center this Sunday and all the focus is on the main event of the evening.

There's no denying that Dean Ambrose's return has brought some momentum to the dreadful Intercontinental Championship feud.

Roman Reigns will square off against Brock Lesnar for the third time this year and the fans have already rejected the idea of having both performers rule WWE's flagship show.

With the current match-card looking absolutely disappointing, a lot lies on Vince McMahon's decision to divert the narrative and deliver a stupendous night with twists and turns.

So, without further ado, let's dive deep and predict all the shocking things that must happen at the biggest party of the summer.

#1 Becky Lynch turns heel and walks out as the new SmackDown Women's Champion

Time
Time to shake things up

All of us who are fascinated by the product have been disappointed lately with the creative booking of the segments, especially the ones revolving around the female wrestlers.

Becky Lynch's journey to reach to the top has been inspirational and has earned a lot of followers along the way, but her road to glory could end in miserable fashion this Sunday.

Charlotte's return has hindered Becky's momentum and if WWE needs to shake things up on the blue brand, then the latter needs to turn heel and win it all.

It will not only ascend Becky Lynch to the top of the women's division but will also a more refreshing change to the blue brand's landscape.

This could certainly take the crowd in Brooklyn by storm and judging by the way things have transpired, this seems like a strong possibility.

#2 Finn Balor enters the Barclays Center as the Demon King

Will
Will Finn Balor embrace the dark side?

If you're a fan of Finn Balor and how he heated things up in NXT with his demonic persona, then you're certainly very disappointed with how he is performing on the main roster.

His continuous smile conceals a toughness that is almost frightening and if the creative team needs to shake things up in Brooklyn, then they need a Demon to light up the arena.

Balor's feud with Constable Corbin has been reasonably average; with both performers enacting their parts well without any significant storytelling.

Since his last two appearances at SummerSlam have presented him as the Demon King, the company might be holding back to pull off a last minute shocker to legions of its fans.

Bringing back the dark alter-ego would certainly heat things up and bring some refreshment in this dreadful feud, and would provide Finn with some much-needed momentum heading into Hell in a Cell.

The prospect of moving forward with the Authority Vs. Finn Balor seems reasonable on paper, and defeating an authoritative heel in Constable Corbin could lead to an opportunity for the Cerebral Assassin to return and shake things up.

#3 Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton's annihilation gives rise to a Broken Brother Nero

The fe
The feud that is ruling the blue brand

WWE deserves a lot of appreciation for how they have managed to advance the narrative between Jeff Hardy, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Randy Orton.

All the three performers have a lot of momentum heading into the biggest party of the summer, and with the fans anticipating something shocking, the creative team could give us the unthinkable in Brooklyn.

With Nakamura and Hardy set to collide in a singles match, the Apex Predator could conspire a backstage attack with the King of Strong Style to end the enigma for good.

Both the performers could gravitate tremendous heat through this assault, and with the fans disappointed with the Charismatic Enigma's possible forfeit from the bout, a broken Brother Nero could take the Brooklyn crowd by storm.

Imagining the scenes when Brother Nero emerges outta nowhere and beats the hell out of both Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura would be absolutely sensational.

#4 The Ultimate Underdog out-wrestles the A-Lister but fails to beat him

Wil
This might be beneficial in the longer run

Understanding the chemistry that Daniel Bryan and the Miz share, it is necessary for the A-Lister to defeat the Beard at the biggest party of the summer via his dirty antics.

This is a money-making feud that should not conclude this soon, and with Daniel Bryan slowly getting under the skin of his Ultimate Underdog persona, an unjust defeat might be beneficial in the longer run.

Despite the obvious conclusion, the creative team will definitely book Bryan to outwrestle the Miz in every aspect of the bout, with the Submission Specialist displaying his craft and technique.

Miz's soft-style of wrestling could bring him more heat. Him trolling the WWE Universe by defeating the Underdog will definitely work well for both the performers.

The blue brand is doing pretty well with its pacy storytelling and quality narrative, and if Daniel Bryan has to ascend to the top of the mountain again, he needs to lose here.

#5 The Rowdy One squashes Alexa Bliss in minutes to become the Raw Women's Champion

The Rowd
The Rowdy One will unleash this Sunday

Ronda Rousey's feud with Alexa Bliss has been entertaining in every aspect but the match lacks believability, which is making this bout more predictable.

However, there's no denying that Bliss has been able to gravitate a lot of heat through his trash-talking but she might not survive what's coming to her this Sunday.

Understanding the hype surrounding Ronda Rousey, this match needs to end quickly in order to ascend her to the top of the women's division on WWE's flagship show.

With Rousey already annihilating Alicia Fox on Raw, this bout needs to end in minutes. A possible squash match could certainly be entertaining and look more believable on paper too.

#6 Dean Ambrose turns heel and implodes his frustration on Seth Rollins

No longer
No longer brothers

Whether WWE publicly admits it or not, there's no way Vince McMahon drops the ball in the court this time with a Dean Ambrose heel turn.

His physical stature, his villainous look, and his lunatic antics are all yearning for a heel turn at this Sunday's biggest party of the summer.

Teaming up with Seth Rollins were influential in ruling Ambrose out of the equation with a dreadful triceps injury for the first time in his WWE career; costing him nine months of his career and a chance to shine at the Grandest Stage of them All.

With both the performers sharing a dysfunctional relationship, the company could capitalize on the situation and shock the entire world with a brutal attack in Brooklyn.

The Lunatic Fringe needs to turn heel and imploding on the Architect could be the start of a monumental feud with the former being catapulted to the top of the food chain.

#7 The Prizefighter shocks the world by defeating Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns in a single night to become the next Universal Champion

T
The Universal Champion we all deserve

All the hype that is surrounding the Universal Championship match this Sunday is because of the uncertainty floating around as far as the conclusion of the night is concerned.

However, the only certainty about the bout is that the WWE Universe does not want to see either of Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar to walk out as the Universal Champion.

Despite the odds stacked against him, I certainly believe that Kevin Owens will manage to get his hands on the Money in the Bank and will definitely shock the world by pulling off the unthinkable.

Considering how WWE is pushing Roman Reigns to the moon, they could pull off another swerve by having him defeat Brock Lesnar only to be pinned by Kevin Owens in the end.

While Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar on the same night, the Prizefighter will defeat three top guys in the company on the same night and ascend to the top of Monday Night Raw yet again.

Prepare yourselves for an epic conclusion this Sunday because Monday Night Raw will once again become the Kevin Owens Show.
