KL Rahul's wife, Athiya Shetty, accompanied him during the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) practice session at the Ekana Cricket Stadium ahead of the clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 19.

It is worth noting that Rahul celebrated his 32nd birthday on April 18 for which Athiya reached Lucknow and wished him with a romantic note on her Instagram handle. The couple married each other on January 23, 2023, after reportedly dating for three years.

Athiya was sporting an LSG jersey, while KL Rahul was in his training jersey and the couple were standing at the boundary line.

Coming to the on-field performance, KL Rahul has not been at his best so far in the 2024 IPL season. The LSG skipper has looked fluent in most of his stints but failed to convert the starts into match-winning scores.

The stylish batter has scored 204 runs at an average of 34 and a strike rate of 138.77 with a lone half-century in six outings.

Rahul's inconsistencies have been a mirror image of LSG's showing thus far, with the side winning only half of its six games. They are currently just outside the top four on fifth, losing two straight games after an excellent start.

KL Rahul celebrated his birthday with LSG players and support staff

The LSG social media handle released a video of skipper KL Rahul being covered with cake while celebrating his 32nd birthday.

Rahul cut his birthday cake and fed head coach Justin Langer the first piece before his teammates joined the party to rub the cake on his face as per the norms. The joyous occasion was filled with hugs and smiles as the entire LSG team enjoyed celebrating the special day of their captain.

Yet, the fun and games end when the side takes on CSK in back-to-back fixtures, home and away, on April 19 and 23. The two matches could have a massive bearing on the playoff qualification fortunes of both sides.

CSK are currently two points ahead of LSG after six outings and sit third in the table.
