A clinical performance from the Giants and they hold their nerve in the end to clinch victory. Tamil Thalaivas finish their home leg with four losses! Their fans turned up in huge numbers everyday with a hope of waving their yellow flags but the Thalaivas have disappointed. It was that Super Raid by Parteek Dahiya in the first half which changed the complexion of the game and from there on, the Giants played with immense maturity to hold on to the lead all the way through. The Thalaivas made a late surge back in the contest on the back of Narender's 7 points but they failed to get over the line as they just couldn't inflict an all out despite having the Giants down to two men on multiple occasions towards the end as well. That's been the major reason for their loss today and their campaign continues to worsen after a promising start. As for the Giants, they will be mighty pleased with the five points that they will take away from this contest as they move up to the third position in the points table. 

40' Parteek Dahiya runs down the clock and then gets a hand touch on Abishek, who was standing pretty advance, and returns with a point.

However, the tables turned from there on as Parteek Dahiya was substituted in for a do-or-die raid and returned with a four-pointer to give the Giants a lead. One interesting battle that has brewed in the middle is Ajinkya Pawar vs Fazel Atrachali, with the former getting the better of the Sultan on all occasions so far. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Pawar goes deep and gets a hand touch on Sombir in the right corner.

His hand crossed the mid-line from outside the mat. However, turns out even Rakesh had gone out of bounds as the momentum took him out. One point to each side!

On the other side, Himanshu Singh picks up a point! He escapes from Sombir's ankle hold and returns! Was some poor co-ordination between the right corner chain defenders there.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. The forty-forth match of the tournament will witness Tamil Thalaivas lock horns with the Gujarat Giants at the SDAT Indoor Stadium, Chennai. 

The Tamil Thalaivas have had a dismal run in the recent past, failing to win a single game at home so far. They have four losses on the trot, three of which have come at home. They will turn up for one final time in front of their home crowd today and will be desperate for a win, more so for their fans who have turned up in large numbers and supported them constantly. 

It has all gone wrong for the Thalaivas this time. Narender has been mighty predictable, Ajinkya Pawar's prowess lasted only one match. The defense is largely uncoordinated and is leaking points, especially in the covers. Even coach Ashan Kumar, who had turned this team's fortunes around last year, is struggling to find answers. Can they finish their home leg on a high? Only time will tell. 

Facing the Thalaivas today will be the Gujarat Giants, who find themselves much better position as compared to their opponents today. The Giants are placed fourth and have four wins under their belt. They've had largely a topsy-turvy campaign so far but come into this contest on the back of a win against the Yoddhas. They will look to get some momentum going now as they aim to get start a winning streak now.
