FULL TIME! Telugu Titans 36 - 38 Tamil Thalaivas

An electrifying game of kabaddi and it is the Tamil Thalaivas who get over the finish line! It was a closely-contest game, with the lead never being significant for any team. After having a short lead at half time, the Thalaivas kept attempting to extend it but the Titans did well to chip away at it. However, they fell short as the Thalaivas inflicted an all out in the dying moments of the game. Pawan Sehrawat failed to pick up a super 10 in this contest and despite contributions from everyone in the starting seven, the Titans fall short. As for the Thalaivas, Narender starred with a 10 points, including a few handy tackles while Sahil Gulia noticed up a high 5 on his way to 7 tackle points. The Titans sink to another defeat and will continue to remain at the very bottom of the points table. Remember, they are yet to register a win in this tournament so far and their horrid run continues. Meanwhile, the Thalaivas will be happy to get back to winning ways as they move up in the points table with five valuable points. 

40' One of the Thalaivas' defenders stand ahead and give a point to the Titans' raider to push him back to his half. Well, that's it then! The Thalaivas win the Southern Derby!

40' With one second to go on the clock, Narender is tackled! The defense does not allow him to cross the baulk line. As soon as he attempts it, the covers run around and tackle him! One second still remains!

40' ALL OUT! Ankit is allowed the bonus point and soon after, Sahil Gulia puts in an ankle hold which immobilises the raider! That should be the final nail in the coffin!

31' SUPER TACKLE! And oh dear! These are not good signs for Pawan! The left corner tries a double thigh hold. Pawan leaps over him and runs around to the other side of the mat as the right corner chain runs around. However, a double thigh hold finally comes from one of the defenders brings him down. And he's wincing in pain! Seems to have landed on his shoulder!

29' Ajinkya Pawar is brought down! The left cover runs around with a solid block and Ajit Pawar gets another point for the Titans! He got assistance straightaway there.

A half filled with action, entertainment and drama! It was the Telugu Titans who had a sense of urgency about the way they played initially, taking a lead initially. They kept building on it point-by-point but never had a significant one in the bag. Credit to the Thalaivas, they made a stellar comeback after being down and levelled the score before going on to inflict the all out on the Titans to gain the lead. They have a slender 3-point lead going into the second half but more importantly, they have momentum on their side as well. They will be looking to build their lead further while the Titans will take this break to collect themselves and come out all guns blazing in the second half.

Robin Chaudhary gets in a point as he escapes from the left-in's ankle hold. Narender follows it up with a toe-touch on Pawan in the left-in.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. The twenty-first match of the tournament will pit the Tamil Thalaivas up against the Telugu Titans at the Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Bengaluru. 

The Tamil Thalaivas have had a mixed campaign so far. They got off the mark in style, beating Dabang Delhi in what was quite a one-sided clash but went on to lose to a strong Bengal Warriors outfit in their next fixture. They have quite a formidable side and if the side can click, they can do wonders. They will need to come out all guns blazing tonight if they are to get the better of the Titans.

The Telugu Titans, on the other hand, find themselves at the bottom of the table with not a single win from three encounters. The addition of Pawan Sehrawat had strengthened the raiding but he has received next to no support. The defense has not been able to revive him on a regular basis as well and despite getting Super 10s in all matches, Pawan's team has failed to cross the line. 

The Titans will need to buckle up and come out with a vastly different strategy if they are to win in this game. They have tried a wide variety of players, including NYPs who have been good in parts but have not performed as well as the team would have wanted, or rather needed them to. Plenty to play for the Titans as they aim to bring their campaign back on track in this season.
