WWE WrestleMania 30 के बाद ट्रिपल एच ने बतिस्ता और रैंडी ऑर्टन के साथ मिलकर Evolution का पुनर्गठन किया था। Extreme Rules 2014 पीपीवी में उनकी भिड़ंत द शील्ड से हुई। उस समय ट्रिपल एच, द अथॉरिटी के लीडर भी थे जिन्होंने लगातार रेंस, रॉलिंस और एंब्रोज की मुश्किलें बढ़ाई हुई थीं। लेकिन Extreme Rules 2014 में द शील्ड ने आइकॉनिक प्रो रेसलिंग ग्रुप Evolution को मात देकर उन्हें सबक सिखाया था, मगर इसके बाद भी ये फ्यूड जारी रही थी।
