The final week of 2018 is coming fast and since Raw and SmackDown have already been pre-recorded for Christmas week, many of the statistics from the past 12 months have already been calculated and are not likely to change before the world welcomes 2019.

The past 12 months have seen some interesting moments for WWE talent with the women of WWE racking up more history with the first ever Women's Royal Rumble, all Women's pay-per-view and recently the first ever women's TLC match.

It's been a great year for the likes of Seth Rollins, who has had numerous Championship reigns as well as Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin who was shockingly promoted to General Manager on Monday Night Raw.

Over on SmackDown Live, AJ Styles has dominated the show as the WWE Champion for a huge percentage of the year, but Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, and Randy Orton have all been consistent faces throughout the year.

Records mean more in WWE now than ever before and here are just 10 that have been broken over the past year.

#10 Longest Money In The Bank reign - Carmella

Carmella cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to become Women's Champion
Carmella cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to become Women's Champion

Carmella became the first female Money in the Bank winner back in 2017, but the Princess of Staten Island didn't decide to cash in her contract until the most opportune time, which came two nights after WrestleMania back in April when she cashed in on Charlotte Flair.

Flair had only recently defeated Asuka to retain her Women's Championship at the biggest event of the year and after a beatdown from the debuting IIconic's, Carmella was able to pick her spot and become the SmackDown Women's Champion for the first time.

Carmella won the Championship in June 2017 and carried the case around with her until April 2018 which means that she was able to break the record that was previously held by the first ever winner Edge to become the longest reigning Money in the Bank contract holder at 287 days.

#9 Longest title reign of the modern era - Pete Dunne

Pete Dunne won the United Kingdom Championship almost two years ago
Pete Dunne won the United Kingdom Championship almost two years ago

Pete Dunne has been one of the biggest stars on the UK scene over the past few years and he was able to prove that his dominance straight off the bat when he defeated Tyler Bate at NXT Takeover: Chicago back in 2017, in what was Bate's first Championship defense.

Dunne has since reigned his division in WWE over the past year and a half and has defeated all comers which most recently has included Adam Cole, Ricochet and even Johnny Gargano. The NXT UK division has been pushed forward on recent months and Dunne has now become the face of an entire country which could be why WWE has allowed the star to continue his reign as Champion, a reign that has now reached an impressive 579 days.

Monday Night Raw celebrated its 25th year as a broadcasted show earlier this year and as part of that show a number of faces from the past two and a half decades. Whilst there are a number of legends of the business who have retired from WWE over the past year, one legend that has made her return is Mickie James.

Mickie is a former six-time Women's Champion and has shared the ring with the likes of Trish Stratus, Beth Phoenix and Lita throughout her career before she left WWE and made a name for herself in TNA. Mickie is the only woman in wrestling history to have held the Women's, Divas and Knockout's Championships and earlier this year she became the first woman to have 164 matches on Monday Night Raw.

#7 Longest time in a Royal Rumble match - Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan lasted over an hour in the Greatest Royal Rumble match

The Royal Rumble match is one of the longest matches of the year and throughout its entire span as a pay-per-view, there have been many men who have been the Ironmen of the match and stayed as part of the competition for more than an hour.

The most famous one would be Rey Mysterio back in 2006 when he lasted from number two in the match to last eliminate Randy Orton and win the chance to main event WrestleMania. This year WWE gave their fanbase two Rumble matches with The Greatest Royal Rumble becoming part of the fall out from WrestleMania 34.

Daniel Bryan entered the match at number one and was able to last for an incredible hour and 16 minutes before he was eliminated by Big Cass. Even though this is a different Rumble, WWE has officially given Bryan the record and it's hard to see anyone ever breaking it.

#6 Longest performance on Monday Night Raw - Seth Rollins

It's been a fantastic year for Seth Rollins since he's won both the Intercontinental Championship and the Tag Team Championships with both Jason Jordan and Dean Ambrose.

Rollins was able to capitalize off the fact that his partner was injured and pushed himself into the spotlight on Monday Night Raw in the build-up to Elimination Chamber. Rollins was one of just five competitors in a gauntlet match that lasted for almost half of the episode of Raw that week and Rollins was able to last for over an hour in the match which officially became the longest performance by any WWE superstar on Raw over the past two decades.

Sadly Rollins year hasn't ended the same way as it started as he recently lost his Championship to Dean Ambrose at TLC earlier this month.

Kofi Kingston has been a WWE superstar for more than a decade and in that time he has had a number of Tag Team partners which has led to a number of Tag Team Championship reigns. Whilst Kingston was part of The New Day a few years ago the trio broke Demolition's record as the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in history, but it wasn't until this year that he was able to break a record of his own and become a solo record holder.

Kingston and The New Day have dominated the Tag Team Division on SmackDown Live throughout 2018 and the former United States Champion is now the longest reigning solo Tag Team Champion in history with an impressive record of more than 975 days.

#4 Youngest WWE Champion in history - Nicholas

Nicholas was just 10 years old when he won the Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania

Back in 2017, this record was broken when Tyler Bate won the United Kingdom Championship at just 19-years-old. Interestingly, just a year later the company decided to break the record once again when they allowed Braun Strowman to choose his own Tag Team partner for his Tag Team Championship match against The Bar at WrestleMania.

Strowman went on to pick a fan from the audience who turned out to be referee John Cone's son Nicholas. The 10-year-old tagged into the match at one point before quickly tagging back out and was then crowed Tag Team Champion along with Strowman when The Monster Among Men won the match. The title was then vacated the following day since Nicholas had to return to school, but it's thought that he will now hold this record for a while since he is just 10 years old and isn't considered an active superstar on the roster.

Brock Lesnar has spent the best part of 2018 holding the Universal Championship. Ever since he defeated Goldberg back at WrestleMania 33, The Beast has remained undefeated in Championship matches against some of the company's biggest stars, until he encountered Roman Reigns at SummerSlam back in August.

Reign had tried to overcome Lesnar a number of times before SummerSlam, but it The Biggest Party of the Summer that saw Lesnar dethroned after holding the title for more than 500 days. The Beast's World title reign ended at 503 days which makes him the longest reigning World Champion of the modern era, a record that he could add to in the coming months since he was able to regain the title back at Crown Jewel last month.

Charlotte Flair has racked up an impressive 25 wins on pay-per-view

There hasn't been a female wrestler more dominant than Charlotte Flair in the Women's Division over the past three years, which led to her gaining the record of 16 straight wins on pay-per-view following her main roster debut in 2015.

Flair has since added to this amount, but earlier this year she was able to put her name in the history books once again when she picked up her record 25th pay-per-view victory, the most of any woman in the history of WWE.

Flair has made a lot of history in her three years on the main roster and is about to make history once again in the near future as she looks to become an eight-time Women's Champion with her next title win, which would be the most of any female wrestler in WWE history.

#1 Most single Rumble match eliminations - Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman won The Greatest Royal Rumble back in April

Rumble eliminations as a record has changed hands a number of times over the years since Kane once had the record when he was able to eliminate 11 men in one match. Roman Reigns then became the man to break this a few years ago when he was able to take out 12 men, which included his two Shield teammates back in 2014.

Braun Strowman has become the newest monster in WWE over the past few years, which has seen the Monster Among Men given a number of impressive records, which include the fact that he was able to eliminate 13 men as part of The Greatest Royal Rumble back in April. Strowman also went on to win the match, which makes him the first man to break the record and then go on to win the match as well.
