5 reasons why Dean Ambrose must not turn heel

Does Dean Ambrose need to turn heel?

The Shield recently reunited on Raw after Dean Ambrose returned to WWE television from his tricep injury. The Shield since then has been on a path of destruction and dominating the Raw roster. At WWE Super Show-Down, The Shield is set to take on The Dogs of War.

With Roman Reigns being the Universal Champion and Seth Rollins being the Intercontinental Champion, the Shield might have been acting as the belt collector of Raw. However, with Dean Ambrose being the third member of The Shield and being the only non champion member of the faction, the rumours are surrounding that Dean is set to turn on the Shield in near future.

Even WWE teased Dean Ambrose's heel turn this week on Monday Night Raw. However, there's a question for every wrestling fan. Does Dean need to turn heel? Here are five reasons why Ambrose does not need to turn heel.

#5 He is better as a face

Isn't Dean Ambrose a better face?
Isn't Dean Ambrose a better face?

While many fans want to see a heel Dean Ambrose, but does Ambrose need a heel turn when he that good as a face?

Dean Ambrose has been very great as a face and has been a face for a very long time. He has been great as a face and his face-work has been greatly admired by the fans. His segments as a face against Seth Rollins and AJ Styles have been great and he plays his 'Lunatic Fringe' face persona to its perfection. .

With that being said, I don't see any reason of turning Dean Ambrose heel, that too when he has been great and cheered babyface.

#4 His heel-run was forgettable

Dean Ambrose was a heel when he debuted on the main roster

Dean Ambrose has been a heel during his run in the WWE. This dates back to his debut on the main roster and the Shield's initial run in 2013.

After Dean Ambrose arrived with the Shield and helped CM Punk win, he was portrayed as the leader of the Shield and the next big thing. However, his heel run was disastrous. Even though the Shield as a heel was great, Dean's heel run was not. His reign as United States Champion during that time was also lacklustre and one of the worst title reigns in history.

This simply proves that Dean Ambrose was neither great nor interesting as a heel. Even if he turns heel as a singles competitor, I don't think that he might be that interesting that he is as a face.

#3 Ambrose won't be able to win the Universal Championship by turning on The Shield

Doesn't he deserve another title run as a face?

Let's make it clear: Dean Ambrose won't be able to win the Universal Championship by turning on the Shield.

Dean Ambrose is a talented man who definitely deserves to win the Universal Championship. Everyone wants him to win the World Championship again and see him as the top star in the company. However, he won't be able to win the gold by just turning on his Shield buddies.

We have already seen that only a heel turn won't help to win the titles. We even saw Braun Strowman turn heel but wasn't able to win the titles by that much. The same fate might await Dean Ambrose if he turns heel as Roman is definitely not going to lose the title to him.

The heel turn might prove worse than better for the Lunatic Fringe here.

#2 Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns' heel-turn would be 'Best for Business'

Dean turning heel might not be better than Roman Reigns turning heel

Let's be clear about this: Roman or Rollins' heel-turn would be better than Dean Ambrose turning heel. Every wrestling fan knows it.

Dean Ambrose might not be that great a heel that Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins can be. We have already seen Seth Rollins' work as a heel and he truly burned it down in that role too. Rollins might also be inserted back to the Universal title picture with the heel turn.

Talking about Roman Reigns, given the animosity that the WWE Universe has shown him in the recent past, WWE might consider turning him heel to make him over with the fans. If WWE takes consideration, a heel turn for Reigns or Rollins would be best for business.

#1 He would only be used to put Reigns over

The biggest reason why Ambrose should not turn heel

We have already seen it happen; most of the heels in WWE are used to put Roman Reigns over. We have seen this happen with Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. Jinder Mahal was personally brought back from SmackDown to Raw for that only. The same fate might await Dean Ambrose if he turns on his current buddies.

He would be used to put over Roman Reigns as we all know Dean can simply make the crowd boo him (turning on The Shield would simple make the WWE universe hate him). The fans would simply not like 'The Lunatic Fringe' to just put over Roman Reigns.

A person as talented as Dean Ambrose simply deserves better than that. He should either stay a babyface and turn heel when he goes to SmackDown Live if that's the case.
