Wins and losses don’t count for everything in sports entertainment/pro wrestling, but it’s still important for WWE Superstars to get a couple of victories under their belt every once in a while.
Goldberg, for example, built a Hall of Famer career based on a winning streak, while current-day stars like The Ascension and The Revival have recently had their reputations damaged following a series of underwhelming losses.
It only takes one statement victory for somebody to turn their fortunes around, though, as we recently saw with Lana’s win over Billie Kay, but there are still several performers on Raw and SmackDown Live who are waiting for a much-needed victory.
In this article, only including people who have competed in three or more matches, let’s take a look at six WWE Superstars who are yet to win on television in 2018.
#6 Sin Cara (three losses)
It looked to be a sign of better things to come when Sin Cara signed a new WWE contract in late 2017 and he was immediately inserted into a United States Championship storyline with Baron Corbin.
However, at least from a storyline perspective, not much has changed for the high-flying veteran, who has only been involved in three televised matches so far in 2018.
He was unsuccessful in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34 and in the Greatest Royal Rumble match in Saudi Arabia, while he lost via submission in a match against Samoa Joe on SmackDown Live.
#5 Mike Kanellis (three losses)
Mike Kanellis’ 2018 has followed a similar pattern to Sin Cara, with the “Power of Love” preacher losing all three of his televised matches this year.
Like Sin Cara, he was unable to outlast dozens of other WWE Superstars in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal or the Greatest Royal Rumble, and his only other match was a losing effort against Zack Ryder on an April episode of Main Event.
Since his WWE debut in July 2017, which he won against Sami Zayn, Kanellis has lost all seven of his televised matches.
#4 Kane (four losses)
Given that Kane was portrayed as a destructive “Demon” who could potentially defeat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, it’s a little surprising that he hasn’t won any of his four televised matches in 2018.
“The Big Red Machine” failed to win the title in a Triple Threat match against Lesnar and Braun Strowman at the Royal Rumble, while he was also defeated the following night on Raw by Strowman in a Last Man Standing match.
Since then, the 7-footer has competed in two more matches – against John Cena on Raw and in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34 – but he lost on both occasions.
#3 The Ascension (five losses)
We mentioned earlier how The Ascension’s dominant NXT reputation has been harmed by multiple underwhelming losses on the main roster, and 2018 has proven to be no different to 2015, 2016 or 2017 for Konnor and Viktor so far.
The former NXT Tag Team champions have earned a new set of fans thanks to their work alongside Breezango in The Fashion Files segments, but their in-ring record of five defeats and no wins this year leaves a lot to be desired.
The duo have lost tag matches against The Bludgeon Brothers, Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin and Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt this year, while they were unable to make an impression in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal or at the Greatest Royal Rumble.
#2 Curt Hawkins (13 losses)
Considering that Curt Hawkins is closing in on an unprecedented 200 consecutive losses, it’s incredible that somebody in WWE has lost more matches than him so far in 2018 (more on that shortly!).
The former Edgehead has lost a total of 13 televised matches since 1 January, with 10 of those coming on Main Event (vs. Goldust x4, Heath Slater x2, Apollo Crews, Karl Anderson, Rhyno and Zack Ryder).
One of his defeats took place against Matt Hardy on an episode of Raw in January, while he ultimately failed his ambitious tasks of winning either the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal or the Greatest Royal Rumble.
#1 Ariya Daivari (17 losses)
Since Enzo Amore was stripped of the Cruiserweight Championship in January, the title has hardly been mentioned on Raw and the 205 Live roster members are no longer being given the platform they once had on Monday nights.
That means, unless you’re a die-hard WWE fan, you may be unaware that Ariya Daivari has racked up 17 defeats in 2018 – more than any other WWE Superstar – and that he has lost 38 televised matches in a row since he defeated Rich Swann on 205 Live in August 2017.
Only five of those 17 losses this year have come in singles matches (vs. Kalisto, Cedric Alexander, Buddy Murphy, Akira Tozawa and Mustafa Ali), so it’s safe to say that Daivari is definitely the worst tag-team partner in WWE right now!
