Chris Jericho is not in the Royal Rumble 2018

What's the story?

After the contract of WWE superstar Chris Jericho expired with the WWE, he has since departed from the promotion, and has been seen making his debut for NJPW, taking on Kenny Omega.

Whilst promoting his next match for NJPW via his social media account, Jericho was also taking questions from the LIVE feed.

In case you didn't know

Jericho signed to the New Japan promotion, and his promotions will be baseless if people are stuck with the impression that he is a surprise entrant at the Royal Rumble.

Chris had to answer it when he had a young fan asking about his return. Jericho did not hesitate to answer, that there have been no talks between WWE and him, regarding his return for the Royal Rumble.

With there being so many rumours surrounding WWE's next Pay-Per-View, many young fans are left assuming that he will make a WWE return at the Royal Rumble, so it was important to confirm these rumours. However, it looks as though we cannot expect to see Chris Jericho in the WWE ring at Royal Rumble 2018.

The heart of the matter

Chris has his plans, and he does not want to make a return to the WWE, why?

He is a major star, but WWE does not want to push him because he is a future Hall of Famer. However, NJWP has a different view and vision for Jericho.

What's next?

Potentially, one of the reasons why Chris went to New Japan, was because he wanted to prove that he can draw more online subscriptions and tickets sales. According to the New Japan statistics, before his match against Omega took place, the subscriptions increased to 30%. After seeing this, he knows that WWE would want him back to their ring.

Chris Jericho is signed to the NJPW as of now, and he will not return to the WWE ring for a while because New Japan cannot afford to lose him right now. Jericho's presence moved wrestling fans from their home country to Japan to witness the Alpha vs Omega match.
