5 female WWE superstars that turned out to be complete busts

Bayley,
Bayley is one of many female superstars that turned out to be complete busts.

Not everyone lives up to the hype.

Whether that is due to being held down by management or just not having the personality capable of captivating an audience, there are a multitude of superstars that for one reason or another turned out to be complete busts.

Keep in mind that doesn't mean they were horrible or undeserving of what they did accomplish, it just means that there was so much more there.

With that being said and the ever evolving nature of The Women's Revolution in mind, here are five female WWE superstars that turned out to be complete busts.

What qualifies them as a bust will vary from person to person, but will usually be measured by what the expectations were and what the ultimate result was.

#5 Asuka

Asuka,
Should The Empress of Tomorrow be considered a complete bust?

While some might think that its too early to call Asuka a complete bust, especially since she hasn't even been on the roster a year yet, what WWE has managed to do to her during that time is deserving of the moniker bust.

In fact, her loss to Carmella at Money In The Bank in June is yet another sign of her being a complete bust on the main roster.

Its no secret that a lot of Asuka's appeal came from her undefeated streak and her aggressive style in the ring, but once WWE took that away from her, she pretty much has nothing else to stand on.

Of course that's not to say she isn't an extremely talented in ring competitor and capable of having a great match with anyone, but she doesn't have much beyond that.

Another thing that is obviously holding Asuka back is the fact that she doesn't do very well with promos, which really hurts her when trying to get fans behind her.

In the end, her loss at WrestleMania 34, her loss a few weeks later on SmackDown Live and her loss at Money in the Bank shows that she has completely floundered on the main roster!

And that makes her a complete bust!

#4 Bayley

Bayley,
Bayley has had quite a rocky road since coming to the main roster.

Another superstar that some will argue hasn't been on the main roster enough to justify the word 'complete bust', is former Raw Women's champion Bayley. Not only is her moniker deserved after being out of the title picture for almost a year now, but also by how much her gimmick is holding her back on the main roster.

Whether WWE or Bayley decides to change that fact is up to them and will ultimately be dependent on the consequences of such an action, but she doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the title picture in her current state. In fact, WWE might be better off sending her back to NXT and working with other superstars down there.

At least in NXT, WWE can put Bayley back in front of an audience that absolutely loved her Hugger gimmick and build her back up from there.

In the end, it may not be the answer everyone wants to hear when it comes to how to make Bayley work on the main roster, but its better then continuing to let her flounder like she is.

#3 Emma

Emma,
For a women credited with jump starting the women's revolution, Emma didn't really do much else.

What a long strange road it has been for Emma.

The Austrian born wrestler started to gain a lot of traction during her first run in NXT, even resulting in a title shot against then NXT Women's champion Paige, but was ultimately unsuccessful in doing so. She then was moved to the main roster for one of the most underwhelming runs in WWE history.

Not only was that evident by how WWE made her a comedy break dance gimmick in the beginning, but also by the way they quickly sent her back down to NXT only a little bit after that.

Of course Emma was revitalized in NXT and had a much acclaimed feud with Asuka at NXT Takeover London, but she was still placing second fiddle to several rising stars.

She then made her way back to the main roster as a part of The Women's revolution, but also failed to get much done there as well. In the end, it was a plethora of injuries, horrible storyline direction and a bad attitude that ended her career in WWE. But what hurts the most is the fact that she could have done so much more.

Think about it! This woman was credited with helping start The Women's revolution. She was also someone who was extremely talented in the ring, had a great personality and was more than capable of competing for The Women's title if she was ever given the chance to do so by WWE officials.

In the end, there are two reasons why Emma is a complete bust. The first was her injury proneness, which set her back storyline wise on the main roster, and NXT quite a few times. The other problem was her attitude backstage, which ultimately resulted in WWE creative not wanting to work with her.

#2 Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch has become an afterthought on The WWE main roster.

As angry as The WWE Universe may be by this assessment, Becky Lynch is pretty much the textbook definition of what a complete bust would look like.

Not only is that evident by the fact that she has only managed to hold The Women's title one time in her main roster career, but also by the fact that she is usually an after thought on the blue brand.

Sure, WWE manages to use to her every once in a while, but it is usually in a mid card feud and is nowhere close to the title picture where she rightfully belongs.

She has also taken losses to quite a few superstars on the blue brand over her time their, which seems to show that she isn't a priority to WWE officials.

In the end, Lynch was a member of the four horsewomen and was expected to do great things on the main roster once she was called up.

Unfortunately for Lynch, she only held the women's title once and hasn't really made an impact on the blue brand since then, which makes her one of the biggest busts in WWE history.

Will someone please just give Becky balboa a chance!

#1 Natayla

Natayla,
Has Natayla lived up to expectations?

Lets look at this from an expectations versus reality perspective. While Natayla had many setbacks throughout her career, including a abysmal women's division to compete in and not much faith from WWE officials, she never really seemed like someone that was able to work with the opportunities that she was given.

In fact, she was extremely underwhelming in her short title reign on SmackDown Live last year and needed longtime rival, Charlotte, to make things even remotely interesting.

Then WWE moved her to Raw and made her a babyface, but the company has seemingly not followed up with that lately either.

Despite training in the dungeon, being Bret The Hitman Heart's niece and holding The Women's title two times, Natayla was capable of so much and never really reached her potential.

In the end, it might be something that fans don't want to admit about her, especially after her recent success, but wouldn't you expect more from a Hall of Famer's niece?
