What’s the story?
On a recent edition of E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness, WWE Hall of Famer Edge and Christian addressed the issue of Shinsuke Nakamura’s stagnation in WWE.
Edge insinuated that given Nakamura’s impressive splendid repertoire of matches, it may be hard for him to top his previous acts going forward in the WWE.

Shinsuke Nakamura is widely respected for his work on the Japanese professional wrestling circuit, and also previously held the NXT Championship.
The former MMA fighter and strong-style pro-wrestler has seemingly found himself at the receiving end of criticism from a certain section of fans and experts, who opine that he isn’t performing to his full ability ever since debuting on the WWE’s main roster.
The heart of the matter
It’s intriguing to see that the professional wrestling community has been abuzz regarding Nakamura’s apparent stagnation in the WWE.
Edge explained that he has seen The Artist’s work with AJ Styles, Sami Zayn and Randy Orton as well as his work in NJPW and alluded that Nakamura has set the bar quite high for himself—something that may find tough to topple.
Edge added, ”I mean, maybe (Nakamura will perform to his level best in WWE). Maybe—who knows? It's a different beast entirely.”
“People can blame it on booking, this, that, or the other (and) I don't know; I think it's weird. It just goes to show how different places to wrestle are completely different environments.”
What’s next?
Shinsuke Nakamura presently performs for the WWE’s SmackDown brand. The WWE has alluded to having several big plans for the Japanese Superstar, which it intends to implement in the days to come.

Shinsuke Nakamura is one of the most talented performers in the sport today, and regardless of his run on WWE’s main roster being relatively lacklustre, he is indeed a bona fide star for the company.
Much like fine wine, I expect Nakamura’s tenure with the WWE to age well, with the promotion slowly but steadily booking him well and having him headline PPV shows in the near future.
