The Miz and Maryze were seen arriving at the arena for their show's premiere party right before SmackDown live kicked off. Randy Orton kicked us off with an explanation of why he attacked Jeff Hardy the week before. He said he did it because the fans don't respect his hard work and pondered upon his Legend Killer status. He says the fans are the real Legend Killers since they murdered his legacy and that once he is done with Hardy, the Charismatic Enigma won't be coming back.
#1 Rusev vs. Andrade Cien Almas
Aiden was missing from Rusev's side as Lana took his place. Rusev hit a huge shoulder tackle to take down Almas early on. Rusev blocked a kick and delivered a clothesline followed by a big suplex. Almas was on the outside and Rusev and Lana taunted him from their corner. Rusev hit a few big right hooks and then a big boot to the face after Almas returned.
Almas countered Rusev with a kick to the face but Rusev was quick to recover from it. Rusev missed the Machka kick and Almas hit a chop to no effect. Rusev was angry now and took an elbow to the head before hitting the Machka kick. Lana and Zelina fought outside after Vega slapped Lana and Aiden came to the rescue but managed to get Lana hurt as well as distract Rusev letting Almas hit the Hammerlock DDT. Almas got the pin in and it was a three count.

Backstage, R-Truth was getting ready for his comeback match against Samoa Joe and was way too confident thanks to Tye Dillinger who enthused the veteran.
Lana was fighting with Aiden after we returned from commercials and Rusev shuts them up and says none of them are good for Rusev.
#2 R-Truth vs. Samoa Joe
Joe took control early but Truth fired back with an overhead kick and a big clothesline into the corner. Truth kept the pressure on but Joe bounced him off of the mat. Joe connected with the coquina clutch and managed to make Truth submit for the quick win. R-Truth's entrance rap was longer than this match.

Backstage Asuka was super excited for the upcoming all women's PPV, Evolution. She added that Billie Kay is not ready for her, alluding to their match which was up next.
#3 Asuka vs. Billie Kay
Kay taunted Asuka and clawed at her face early on. Asuka hit a big dropkick and Royce tried to help Kay from the outside. Asuka hit a big kick to the head of Billie Kay and picked up yet another quick victory, making this the second match tonight to end under 2 mins.

AJ Styles gets his SummerSlam challenger
SmackDown GM Paige was in the ring to announce AJ Styles' next challenger for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. She announced that Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita are scheduled to appear at Evolution before inviting AJ Styles into the ring. AJ signed the match contract and called for his championship opponent when Ellsworth made his entrance.
Ellsworth says he'll be champion at SummerSlam and AJ asks Paige what's wrong with him. Paige calls Ellsworth a joke and Ellsworth makes fun of the way she looks, calling him as pale as a ghost. Paige fires Ellsworth and calls in security who carry him backstage.
Paige followed them and made sure Ellsworth left the arena while Samoa Joe attacked AJ Styles in the ring while the champ was distracted. Joe locked in the coquina clutch on AJ making him pass out and signed his name on the contract for the WWE Championship.
Backstage, Paige was not happy about Joe's actions and we found out that he was the challenger that Paige had picked. Carmella walks up to Paige and is angry that she fired Ellsworth. Paige tells her to go buy a new boyfriend and walks off.
#4 Becky Lynch vs. Carmella
Becky went for submission early and Carmella took her down. Mella hit a forearm and send Becky crashing into the barricades after the match proceeded outside the ring. The two returned to the ring and traded fists and Becky missed the Becksloped and took a flatline. Becky managed to hit the Becksploder but took a big move from the top rope. Carmella used the ropes for a dirty pin and Becky kicked out.
Lynch hit a spinning kick and went up top. She missed the leg drop and Carmella hit her with a kick to the head but failed to get the pin. Becky managed to lock in the disarmher and made Carmella submit, winning the chance to challenge her for the SmackDown Women's Championship at SummerSlam.

#5 The New Day vs. SAnitY - Tag Team No.1 Contender's Tournament for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships
Xavier Woods and Alexander Wolfe kicked us off. woods hit a big forearm and Wolfe delivered a German suplex before tagging in Killian Dain. Dain hit a senton on Woods as we broke for commercials. We returned to see Woods block a superplex from Dain and deliver a dropkick from up top. Big E was tagged in and unloaded on Dain with belly to belly suplexes.
Eric Young tried to interfere but Woods kicked him off the apron. Woods and Big E hit their combined finisher and got the win on Wolfe.
Result: The New Day def. SAnitY and progress to the next round
The Bar made a surprise return after the match and said they were ready for a title opportunity. The Bar will face The Usos next week as the tournament continues.
#6 Premiere Party for Miz and Mrs.
Miz and Maryse made their entrance with their baby daughter, Monroe. Miz introduces Lana and hands her the mic. Lana talks about Evolution before talking about their show. Miz introduces his daughter and says she has achieved more in her infancy than Daniel Bryan has, since her return.
The show cuts to a sneak peek for the show Miz and Mrs. It turns out that Daniel Bryan switched the footage to once showing Miz being attacked and ridiculed. Bryan wanted to apologise to Miz in person in the ring and the A-list security stops him. Bryan attacks the guards and makes his way to the ring anyway.
In the ring, Bryan approached and Miz and Maryse and the A-lister threw a baby doll which we had believed was Monroe at Bryan. Miz delivered a skull-crushing finale and says he knew Bryan would find a way to steal his spotlight. Miz says Monroe was safe at home all along and the WWE Universe needs to tune in to their show to see her, before walking out.
