Bio

Soham is a budding Indian football journalist and has been working with Sportskeeda for around a year. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English Honors which has also helped him sharpen his skills as a sports writer. As a journalist, he is a firm believer in fulfilling his obligation to provide transparent and accurate content in his articles for the benefit of his readers.

A writer boasting a deep psychosocial connection with football in his hometown Kolkata, Soham had his first foray into Indian football owing to his family's love for Mohun Bagan. He accompanied his family in following the reputed club through thick and thin during his childhood days and he has not looked back since then.

Soham has previously worked a year each at Indian Football Team for World Cup (IFTWC) and Khel Now. Sunil Chhetri is his all-time favorite Indian footballer and the Blue Tigers' 4-1 win over Thailand in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup has left a lasting impact on him.

A poet and a thespian in his free time, Soham feels interviewing ex-Indian women's national team captain Bala Devi is his greatest professional achievement. He thinks that a well-established league with relegation is the key to Indian football's growth, and a better grassroots infrastructure is required to fulfill India's FIFA World Cup dreams.
